...This is the one (and only) sequence in the game right now where you can actually die... quite brutally.
When I first published Chapter 2, I had one player in the Discord tell me that it took multiple playthroughs before he actually survived the arena. However, choosing the sling and then ending up with the spear/polearm shouldn't happen... Maybe you found a bug? I'm curious now; first I've heard of this happening.
The choices in the arena are linked to your stats and weapon selection, which synergize with your strategy/approach.
Alright, so here is what I can give you:
As I already mentioned, my stats were 1 Might and 1 Mind. At the time, my MC was at 100% Knight personality. I went from choosing the sling to -> I need to help him! -> Stay loose and ready to run./Stay tight and guarded. There is no difference between staying loose or guarded, each time I end up with this:
I quickly went through the sequence again in a new game just in case, this time choosing the gladius, much to the same result.
The last choice I took was to have Gant flank it... and that pretty much ended the fight right there. A clean win, every time.
...I don't believe this to be the case but, surely that 1 point in Mind didn't cause riskier/more dangerous choices/circumstances to simply not appear, right?
Absolutely. Though I could've sworn that there was one more blocked scene at the bath-nevermind, my mistake. Indeed, the goblin maid scene is the only gated one. And only at the end too.I've put a lot of effort into the story, the UI and interface, the images... less than 5% of that effort is currently gated behind the patreon edition. But you're free to have your opinion, and I hope that you can come to respect mine. I want everyone to be able to experience the UNCUT edition, like the game is meant to be. I also need to sustain myself and make a living. I would really love to be able to do this full-time and pump out 30k+ words on a biweekly basis. Orphan will hit 1 million very quickly if we can get to that point. My patrons are currently the ones helping me potentially reach that goal.
Still, I stand by what I said as well. I really do believe that ending a current build on a high note instead of a cockblock does make a world of a difference. And will endear you more to future supporters as well.
But enough of that. Again, all the best.
I assume that once the next expansion for the Ascender/Mage route gets released we will be able to visit the bath again without any problems? Or was that spot meant as the actual last stop/save-point before the next update? Either way, strange choice to include it in this way.
While that is nice to hear, that still leaves... far too many immediate questions and concerns untouched. (From the MC's POV.) The wizard gave him a time window of three days, but as soon as he is taken away to Highrock he doesn't seem to concern himself with that reality at all. No questions or doubts in his mind about what he should ultimately do/what path he should take. Other than the brief appearance of Mearesdes in the tavern where he meets Leoris... this plot hook just seems conveniently ignored and forgotten. Hence my initial impression of the non-existent, but planned, Mage-Path.Soon, my man. The Academy/Ascender is the Mage route.
It's just a slowburn, after all.
Ah, okay. Then she is just naturally that... filthy? Because I made sure not to have sex with her on our first meeting, kind knight in shining armor that I am, and still she speaks in fluent innuendo.I didn't record enough variables and wanted players to be able to continue their old saves.
However, I DID have variables for if you fucked her... And those variables impact the way that you interact with her.
