Piracy can be advertisement. Most people who pirate were either never going to buy the product, or can be convinced to buy and/or support through having free access. I think GBPatch even somewhat understands this, as their previous game has the main game free on Steam, with purchasable expansions. Some people won't buy until they try. Others will never buy, but they will be your word of mouth, and word of mouth is powerful. With all this talk of piracy reporting, I have to ask: how are so many devs okay with their games being shared here? Some even post it here directly. I don't imagine a regular indie game dev would be thrilled to know his game is being leaked in an incredibly popular piracy forum, so what gives?
This is probably the first dev I've come across that would actually take action to have his game removed from F95.
