OL2: Linked Moment Opening Script Preview
Here's the reveal of the linked Moments in Step 2! Will you vote to have time off before facing school tests? Or will you do the hard work first and take it easy afterwards? It's up to you! And I suggest trying both ways once those Moments are released.
Pure Text:
mr_m “Ready to listen? Good! The fun-raiser study-a-thon will happen during school hours, in combination with a pajama day theme.”
mr_m “You’ll get to grab your books, pack a sleeping bag, and wear your most comfortable clothes for a whole entire day of free study.”
mr_m “Classes that are involved get to take over the library; everyone not doing it will have to stay out. And you’ll earn funding for your favorite school to boot.”
mr_m “Go with friends! Make a study buddy group. Share subject tips and gossip. Just remember to have some money to cover the cost.”
“What a salesman. He was racking up new sources of income, for sure. How would he be a teacher again, though? [Who could focus on class after that?!/You couldn’t imagine people would focus on class after that.]” #if dislikes school or doesn’t study or neither
mr_m “Now remember, the entire school can’t do it at once. We’ve got to decide the day people in my homeroom, and other classes, have a turn.”
mr_m “Before you ask, “why does that matter?”, I’ll tell you. It could be sooner, or it could be later.”
““As soon as possible” and a half-joking “Could it be today?” were the top suggestions from around the room.”
mr_m “We could put it in motion right away. It’d be good to give you plenty of time to study before the first major tests of the semester.”
“[No./Of course.] That’s how you take the fun out of “fun-raiser” and get people to think of school again- reminding ninth graders about upcoming standardized testing.” #if dislikes school/studying/bad at school and feels bad or not
“Mr. Murray walked from one side of the front to the other. He had the space and the quiet for a little stroll.”
mr_m “You should do fine, if you make the most of several extra hours of studying.”
mr_m “But is that what you want? Starter quizzes are good for figuring out where you’re at. You’ve got a long year of testing ahead!”
mr_m “Having a set of grades in hand could guide your choices during the study-a-thon; sails on the wild seas of free time.”
if cares about doing well in school or feels bad that they don’t do well:
“The [pressure/pain] was real! Mr. Murray, have mercy!” # if cares about doing well in school or feels bad that they don’t do well
#####
mr_m “It will be up to you! We’re taking a vote.”
mr_m “You’ve got, oh, ten minutes to think and talk amongst yourselves, then our homeroom will vote.”
mr_m “I’ll add up the results with the rest of the teachers later. The different group dates will be announced by the end of school, today.”
“After encouraging so much audience participation, a single soul spoke up at the end of his announcement. They asked if you had to wear PJs in order to get out of class.”
mr_m “Yes! That’s what you’re signing up for. No fancy-pants will be admitted.”
“The murmuring began, not to the teacher, but from peer to peer. There were important matters to consider.”
mr_m “Also, you can’t leave the room. But I will, one-time only, let you take out your cellphones during class time. As long as it’s to text a guardian or friend about the fundraiser.”
mr_m “Hopefully our donors will be as generous as I am!”
