Because Stan is his own man, with a job, and paying his own bills, just trying to not get in the way of his flatmates, but getting disrespected by one of them at every turn. Thankfully, the other one has the option of giving him a helping hand to get him to be more sociable and not as withdrawn. (There are quite a few parallels with Holly there...)

That's an interesting take. My read on Stan is that yes he has a job. Yes he pay his own bills. Yes he's being disrespected and should bite back. But he definitely tries to get in the way of the FMC.

But good lord, he's fucking creeping on his roomate fucking AND jerking off without locking the door is just bad writing.

Eva should've made him a smarter coomer. Stan is a dumbass and doesn't deserve respect. Not for being a coomer. But for being caught being a coomer.

Not only a polls, there is such a thing. Eva said that fans asked her to "redesign Stan" to make him a more likeable and meaningful character and to give him a route. She herself admitted that she did not like Stan.

Wait a minute... I thought that she reworked Stan because she didnt like how he turned out/he wasnt doing much .
I even thought that when people said that, that they meant it has a joke because of the whole "hes like most F95 users meme" . I didnt know this was the reason

Before knowing this I was neutral to Stan, in the sense that him being there or not not being there doesnt make any difference for me... But now I dislike him even more .

To think that Eva changed a whole character of her own story just to please some people really makes me sad and angry at the same time... Not only because it changed Evas plans, but also because of the potential wasted for other characters who were already interesting and well designed to begin with and that just "needed some love".

The main issue for me is that it happened and not the fact that it was Stan who got it. But going on the assumption that it happened already, the choice of Stan feels "wrong" .

That's Eva problem. Too vulnerable to the fans opinion. And given that this is a genre of porn games, there are a lot of virgins with social problems in the audience.
The developer should tell his story, not the one that a group of people requires.
Also, Eva has a problem with writing some characters, especially male ones, that they are not interesting personalities and are only two-legged dildos for Lena.

Correct me if I’m wrong, because there’s literally hundreds of Patreon posts and I might’ve missed something, but I’m pretty sure Eva has never said anything about fans asking her to redesign Stan, and that being the reason for the rework?

That sounds like she didn’t like the old Stan, and therefore made som adjustments to him, which is an obvious thing to do if you’re dissatisfied with a character in your story, unrelated to what the game’s followers think of him.
