Sure, you can construct whatever headcanon you want about his motives, but at this point i'm not sure if anything short of Perry going down on his knees and proposing to Wade would convince you about his intentions not being just selfish. Perhaps not even then.That's still not explicitly caring about Wade's wellbeing out of altruistic reasons, and can still easily be read out of simply wanting to make sure Wade stays in that place where Perry wants him. His concern that Wade could change as a result of the bad trip could quite simply be not wanting him to leave his stoner-adjacent lifestyle.
The thing is, at no point Perry displays motives you accuse him of, either. He doesn't say anything to such effect to anyone.
