I'm not getting it from the story at all. Lena's relationship with her mom is strained but it's because Lena thinks her family doesn't understand her passions, and she dislikes how her mom never changes her mind based on other people's advice.
That might be something that happens on your main playthrough, but it does not happen on mine. It becomes very clear from early on that Lena´s Mom pretty much prefers her son over her, treats her like a servant and misuses the money sent by Lena.
Lena's interactions with her mom are mostly hardcoded. There's no way for the things am talking about not to happen in your playthrough, you can at best overlook or ignore them as the player.
If you are referring to Lena's mom giving away the money she got from Lena to help her brother, this is explained by Lena's stepdad, if you give him a chance. It's not preference, but guilt. Even Lena grudgingly recognizes her mom's reasoning in this situation afterwards. And that's not "from early on", it happened literally in the most recent chapter.
Again, that's very much not the impression i got from that talk. And these events are the same for everyone, so it's not a difference between playthroughs, but how we perceive what we're told by the game.

Did you read my answer to your post? Lena, when still a little girl, was shown some photos supposedly(!) being her Dad. Who is to say that these photos were the right ones? Even if they were the right ones, people change and the memory from your earliest years is most often hazy.

So, you think Lena's mom put up a deep cover operation to hide Seymour from Lena. Because she could foresee the future where her husband was gonna get cancer, her son was going to be a junkie and she was going to have also health issues and would need to depend on her minimum wage daughter who was going to move to the same town where Seymour lives. That's a stretch and would be some bad intentional obfuscation in writing from Eva as it just doesn't make any sense. Seymour is a celebrity. Lena's seen photos of her father. It sounds like you really want Seymour to be Lena's father and are throwing yourself into loops trying to reason it away. Unless Eva's a way worse writer than I'd imagined, while at the same time is fine with risking Steam and Patreon bans.

Even if the photos are correct, people change and some persons change more than others. A beard or not, a different hairstyle is often enough to throw peoples perceptions off!
I don't think Seymour will be Lena's father but he may have dated Lena's mom. Let's call it a hunch. That homeless old man have more chances to be Lena's father as Seymour knew him and was surprised when he saw him in that homeless state. I believe Seymour, Lena's mom, Homeless guy might have been friends or from same school type shit.
