Your divergence was by having her no charisma and strategically avoiding the countless options to increase it. There is no promising low charisma path that changes her behavior and character like wits and lust can do. Raising charisma and benefiting from the countless "better" responses that come with it make raising it a natural, smooth playstyle. You went out of your way to play against the games logic.

Going out of the way is not the problem, the game allows it. It's a bug, an edge case that the dev didn't foresee. Sure there are ways to prevent it by making different choices but it's still a bug in need of fixing by lowering the requirement or adding a basic choice to continue the game.

In other terms its softlocking, like selling all your equipment and releasing all party members right before a fight with no option of backtracking and training. Or getting on an island city in Pokemon and releasing all your monsters who could fly or surf out of it.
