I wonder how many people liked the tourney.
For me it was frustating.
Regarding the fighting mechanics i found them okay tbh, it's just a simple high skill high reward system. If you have really high kickbox/jiujutsu + athletics skill points then you'll win effortlessly.
After trying it with different stats on each save i found that the higher my stats the higher the chance my attacks will land, If my stats are average then the guy i'm fighting will block/counter most of the time which makes winning a real struggle.
There is no specific set of choices that you have to make in order to win, I had a save where Ian pretty much mastered kickboxing and i would win by just randomly switching between dodging and attacking (there's even a combo option which is cool!).
I think what the tounament really needs is something that makes it stand out, like a unique background (with a ring and spectators and some lights too), it's using the gym background which makes the fight seem like a regular sparring match, Eva could also add some cheering crowd sounds and a bell ring when every round begins and ends to make it more realistic, I didn't feel like i was in a tournament at all during the fight!
From the re-used assets and the lacking tournament Eva clearly rushed this prologue, I wish she took more time with it. Fortunately she can go back and fix this in the final build, let's hope she does that.
