Wow, I came to this thread to discuss how this game looks great and has much better visuals than GGGB and I am interested in the two sides of the story, but it seems every closeted-gay guy here is out trying to prove to strangers on the internet that they don't want a gay route. No one is forcing you to play a gay route guys, unless you know, you make the choices that would get you there (if there is one indeed...)

Personally I think a gay route would be a great addition to this game. I wouldn’t play through that part myself, but there’s a lot of people who would enjoy it I think. There’s not a ton of options for people who want gay content in lewd games. And as far as I’m concerned, everyone deserves to get their rocks off.
Personally, I never understand the need of having "token gay" route.
I mean, wouldn't those that are in for such content actually prefer full game dedicated to what they like, done propery, instead having maybe like 5-10% of game in their interest.

It's all about equal choice. We have Eva who's known for providing almost every choice imaginable. And now we have a male co-lead in addition to female. She will certainly have same-sex scenes or potential partners. Why shouldn't he as well?
I noted right away that in one of the scenes between Ian and Perry (I think prior to going to the art gallery) it seemed to me there could be something going on between them, at least from Perry's side. Bisexual people exist, so while your Ian may very well be the 100% straight alpha dudebro, some might prefer a different more experimental way.

I don't even think its about equality I think eva just enjoys making the characters and writing out different scenarios. If eva wants it in the game then its going to be in the game and it'll be to the same qaulity and standard as everything else. In GGB there were plenty of routes i wasnt interested in so i'd skip an update waiting for the stuff i liked i imagine that will be the same or worse for ORS so i can empathize being frustrated having to wait for content you like. Still i'll happily wait for the game to develop on things i like if it means its to the same standard as GGB.
Well if you played GGGB you would know that game has pretty good same sex relationships and they have same screentime as straight relationships and are to some subjectively better routes too.
If its going to be like GGGB then its not really going to be 5-10% of the game it's going to have fully fleshed same sex romances.

I am curious when the worlds will collide for both Ian and Lena, so to speak. When Lena gets to know his friends and Ian gets to know her friends. Axel is legit scary though. I wouldn't want to deal with him at all, he would be a hell of a boss battle. I hope my bro Jeremy would be able to help with that if need be. Damn, it's only 0.1 Alpha and I'm already invested in the narrative. The start of 0.2 will be golden, can't wait to see how Ian and Lena deal with that awkwardness. Hope Eva teases something soon.

I'm a little sad that photographer Danny doesn't look like Danny from GGGB. It would be grest to use one off characters like him to nod at a connected world between GGGB and Our Red String.

Final version is out
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This final release of Chapter One has a completely reworked sprite system, so everyone who played the Alpha or the Beta should disregard those saves and start a new game! Breadloaf has helped me a lot with this new, much needed and long overdue implementation, that will make coding the game much tidier and concise. There are still some other tweaks to add to make ORS an even better product than GGGB, and will be done within these first steps of the game.
Other than that, here's the final version of Chapter One!
The reception for the Alpha and Beta was pretty good and I think you'll enjoy this first release. Bear in mind this is the start of the story and now's the time to set up the characters, their positions in the world and so on, so please don't expect the same level of customisation as in the 20th update for GGGB just now! I do want to hear your thoughts and opinions on the starting point for the new characters and mechanics, though!
What do you think about the new presentation? Graphics, UI, displayables...?
What do you think about the new game mechanics and gameplay?
Do you like the more in depth writing and characters?

Finally had the time to play this.
I must say, after GGGB I can't help but feel a bit disappointed with ORS (so far). The only real improvement over GGGB is the art (proper shading).
The single most disappointing thing is the reduction in scope in regard to choices. They seem fewer in general and some things Ash would have had a choice in Lena seems to auto-decide for herself without player input. (E.g. accepting the nude modeling gig from her friend. Lena can only be grateful for the offer or be slightly annoyed at her friend for organizing it behind her back -but she can't decline.)
It also feels like I already know half the cast from GGGB. The character designs look so similar.
...I also don't care for the male MC. Pity that he'll suck up half of all content of every future update.

I find it funny how some people are complaining about "lack of choice". Compare this v0.1 to GGGB v0.1. There is a ton more choice in this new game compared to that one. What could Ashley chose at the start of the game? To let Jessica copy her homework and what more? I think people are comparing this v0.1 to the full fledged and completed GGGB game where there's a ton of choice, but that's only natural ffs. To say that the only improvement is the art is just not true, the stat system and friendship system is much more advanced, the menus are a lot more in depth, the writing is more detailed and the choices a lot more thought out in my opinion. I felt I got a ton of choice and content for a v0.1, so I can only imagine what the creator of GGGB will be able to accomplish with this. Yeah, Ash could choose to do a naked photoshoot or not, but Ash started out like a really bland and generic character. Lena has a lot more personality and if nude photoshoots are a standard for her, imagine where will she be able to end up... It's too early to say, that's why I haven't reviewed the game yet, but I trust Eva Kiss and what she's shown so far is beyond impressive if we are to judge objectively
