The only game that I can add to your list is Wands & Witches, a Harry Potter parody game where you can play as male or female protagonist. The art style may not be for everyone though.
The art is precisely why I never checked it out. The drawing skills are not great and not what I'm generally looking for in an adult VN. I might check it out to kill the time if all else is good though. I've found myself playing through some of these games (like Mist and Jessica O'Neil) just for the story, even though the erotic parts did nothing for me. Story-based games have become more of my unwind entertainment in the past few years, as the US and UK entertainment industries have been churning out so much ideologically brainwashed garbage/propaganda. Not like most of the stories in these games are fantastic. I'm just hurting for something different from the current trends right now and I've burned through most of the good tv shows and films from pre-2016.

It’s hard to write an interesting story. Harder to write multiple of them at the same time. And much, much harder trying to intertwine and connect them together.

I know she stops taking money out of guilt, probably doesn’t want to be seen as milking. But how does she support herself during this time? A lot of her patrons say they don’t mind being charged. I don’t know how she can backtrack this when she realise she needs money to help with her life and work. She can’t just come back and say hey I actually need to charge you guys now even though I still have nothing to show, sorry, right? Imo she pulled the trigger too early and it’s bad for the business. That’s $4000 monthly that can help her in anyway.

Eva is likely making closer to $12k a month, with a portion of that going to work she contracts out for. She's probably got some cash in the bank to float on. This seems to be both a mental health decision and a customer retention decision. She needs to alleviate some of the pressure while she gets her mind and focus in order. At the same time, she's putting her money where her mouth is, instilling trust with her Patreon supporters. Some of whom may leave in the long run if that trust is no longer there. Not a mind reader, but that's my interpretation. Reputation is important in any business and this is a business. It's a good customer service tactic. She's probably also dedicating a good deal of time trying to get the game up and running for steam and may not feel in good conscience that her supporters should have to pay for that work.

It does look, like a nice decision, which deserve respect. As many other developers just goes on hiatus, while being fully aware that most patrons will not cancel subscription, as it is usually not a big sum per person (keeping tabs on a game, which didn't get updated version for almost 18 months now...)

Another story that you may like is Oathbreaker. I was reluctant to mention it earlier because although Oathbreaker 1 is an incredible story, the continuation Oathbreaker 2 seems to me at least to have bogged down with too many characters. There aren't many sex scene's, and any animation is rudimentary at best but the story is very engrossing and well written.

Oathbreaker 2 has some quality of life improvements over 1. (being able to scroll back, save at any time etc).
The story is also very good. Also Oathbreaker is a VN you play for the story not for the porn. The sex scenes are just an extra.
The number of chars and side stories has exploded beyond any reason. I skipped all dialogue of secondary chars and I can still follow the story perfectly well.

Let me give you my two cents to the current situation of ORS. As I maybe one of the few that didn’t get into ORS through GGGB (I only had a look into it after I played ORS) and I only fund out about ORS recently (a couple of months). I maybe have a bit a different opinion.
To be honest I have no knowledge about game development or creating a VN, but from my work I have knowledge about IT development. I had lead projects in this area and I had work closely together IT developers, clearly this is not the same as creating a game or a VN.

With GGGB EvaKiss has set the bar very high and with trying to improve the experience she also set the expectations towards ORS very high. Deciding to have two MC and also having a different story approach made this for sure also not easier.

As I remember from one of EvaKiss Q&As she also said that she wants to include some stuff from GGGB in ORS, manly in Lena’s route. As the scenery from ORS is different to GGGB, this is very challenging to implement in a satisfying way. And as we had a lot of discussions to this topic here lately in the community, I’m sure that I’m not the only one seeing this issue. For me the focus of ORS is clearly on relationships, and this doesn’t mean that all relationships have to be romantically or lead to a happy end. But adding stuff to the game only to satisfy some kinky desires is not really helpful, on the contrary it increases an already high complexity and could lead to headache for the DV.

If I could give an advice to EvaKiss, it would be that sometime less is more and try to stay by the idea that you had for this VN, don’t try satisfy every desire something sometime just don’t fit.

Overall, I still think that ORS is a great VN with a lot of potential and as long as we get updates from EvaKiss I don’t see any risks. I’m sure, EvaKiss will soon get back on track.

Thanks DavDR. I'll check that out. Tried that Harry Potter parody and it didn't do too much for me, but I don't often like content using characters from other creators.

I'm not looking for strictly F-protag games myself, btw. That was just the request of the original poster who brought this topic up again. MC's sex has never really been important to me in these games. Tagging CoalPhelps as they may appreciate the recommendation for Oathbreaker also.

It's funny, being a Harry Potter parody was the thing that initially drew me to the game. I had just finished Witch Trainer and wanted something like it.

There's another you might like, it was initially called Tabletop Pornstar but the dev changed the name to Tabletop Born Star under pressure from Patreon I guess. Anyway it's mechanics are like a tabletop game where you roll the dice and move around a board but there's a story as well. I usually only like VN's but I enjoyed this one a lot.

Thanks for the TTPS suggestion. That one, though a bit heavy on the grind, was actually pretty good. I can see potential for it, but hope the dev reworks the boardgame aspect of it. I generally liked the art and the story in-between the grind. I actually prefer adult games with real gameplay over straight-up VNs, but think this one would serve better as a straight-up VN unless the dev tweaks the boardgame "gameplay" and adds some strategy there.

I really dig this game. Can't wait to see it come along, though I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Do we actually know that 1.0 will be the final release?

From what Eva's said earlier we're probably halfway through the story, at most. The next chapter after 0.9 won't be 1.0, but 0.10. A lot of chapters to go.

Chapter 9 took roughly 5 months. The game's getting gradually more complex, and Eva also took some time off during summer. She's also been struggling with burnout lately. Currently they're doing a rework of the first 9 chapters (some new art, and reworking some scenes and storylines), after that they'll release the game on Steam and get to work on chapter 10.

I know Minerva was left in the dust after the last female character poll, but I hope that doesn't result in Eva diminishing or outright cutting her character. I'm genuinely interested to see what direction the more romantic route goes and whether another opportunity to get with her would appear in the future if you avoid conflict at your job.

Another point (and it's probably just me), was anyone else slightly disappointed that Seymour showed his hand in the latest chapter? I was expecting this development to occur maybe another chapter or two down the line after some more teasing and Seymour testing the waters, seeing just how far he can push Lena in a future photo shoot. I was half-expecting another dream sequence in which Lena explicitly chooses between Axel or Seymour as to where her affections lie.

Maybe Eva felt guilty about the length of time between updates, hence why many developments that would've benefited story-wise from being given more time to expand have felt a tad rushed.

I wasn't disappointed that he showed his hand. Hopefully it means we can get rid of him sooner.
Fuck Seymore in his wrinkly old arse :KEK:

For Lena to move on and grow tangibly in her more Artistic / Musical non-corruption route we needed Seymore to play his hand already.

Her becoming too successful as Artist / Musician would have trivialized the fin-dom needed to make Seymore's plot make any sense at all.

Earlier is good. Now we can figure out how to get him chucked in the slammer.

Wow, REALLY? This totally changes my entire perspective of the story progress, hahaha.

I 100% assumed the next update would have the fighting tournament, book contest, and ending. You've just blown my mind, haha.

Well, Robert's among the least popular male characters, and he's the guy with the most scenes. I doubt Eva will do anything drastic because Minerva's not as popular as some of the other women. And someone's bound to be the least popular no matter what…

I agree that it felt a bit premature that Seymour showed his hands to such an extent — ideally it could've had some more build up. But as monk_56 mentioned, it was probably necessary from a pragmatic viewpoint. Seymour's likely to play a big part in the rest of the game, and Lena needs to accept his offer or not to really get those storylines going. At least Lena, Ian, Emma and the Major are likely to be involved on his path in some way, and it might have been necessary to push the story forward so that the other paths could continue their progress. It's also likely that Ian will have to choose if he wants to stay on Seymour's side or not, and logically that should happen after Lena's made her choice.

But Eva also posted a sneak peek a few weeks ago from Lena's first photoshoot with Seymour, and said the scene was getting a complete makeover. Maybe they just weren't satisfied with the art; or maybe they're also doing it to adjust Seymour's storyline to make sure it's gotten sufficient buildup before chapter 9.
