What's the issue with Stan and why the hate ?
I just consider him another character and realistic to some extent. There is opportunities for things to get freaky between him and Lena or just give more Lena content thanks to him being clearly a voyeur (a creepy one at that ok). It's fun.

Ppl just dont like him because he is a creep, is fat, and has some serious issues with social interaction. He also stole Louise's panties because that's what all good roommates do. Let's not forget he dresses like a school shooter and gets protective of Lena when Ian talks about her.
Basically he has all the telltale signs of the typical hentai protagonist who only fucks girls when he drugs them. In the end it's all about preferences. I personally dislike this archetype and I much prefer male characters like Ian, Jeremy and Axel.

I actually think Lena and Ian are the most realistic characters in this game by far. Based on my personal experience at least, so your mileage may vary. Everyone else just seems so... exaggerated in their characteristics, be it for better or for worse. I just find Stan to be annoyingly so.
Okay. When Lena sees Stan jerking off in her photo, she may be sympathetic or angry. If you choose the first option, Stan will peep and jerk off during Lena/Mike's sex scene.
