So, literally about 5 seconds into the remaster... and I am already p*ssed:
Code:
scene blazer_outside
...
[Ian] "Perry and the girls will probably get mad at me for leaving like this... But I can't stand this anymore."
Blazer, Perry, girls... what? Is this a completely different game now?

Man, that whole prologue is a tonal mess...

What the f***ing f*** is going on here? Is this a belated April fools' edition of ORS? (From almost suicidal to "Dang, I'd smash that!" in less than 5 seconds is beyond borderline.)

***Update 1:*** Furthermore, nothing (of significance) in chapter 1 was changed to accompany the remade prologue... so far this release feels like a significant disimprovement / injection of story inconsistencies.

***Update 2:*** Okay, in chapter 4 now ...the rewrite of the Stan's arc is adding something to the game -- however, still haven't seen anything which would require/justify a 6 month long overhaul process.

***Update 3:*** And there we (still) have it, in chapter 5 -- the phone conversation between Emma (e) and Ian (i):
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
...which renders the remade prologue completely useless. What a waste of everybody's time.

***Update 4:*** Chapter 7, and -- finally -- something new which on my scale counts as a (minor) improvement. -- But then again, shortly after, here we go: 1990's white-washed Billy enters the scene, "Yo-yo-yo! Wassup, my dude! Long time no see!" -- Seriously, has anybody lately checked on Eva Kiss' mental and/or physical health? I mean, if you have a thing that's perfectly fine, and you delibaratly change it to something much worse... that's called "self-sabotage", not "progress". [< Self censorship, slightly too "toxic".]

Not really to make any kind of point here, but I find it interesting that it's always the guys (or people using male names for their identity), that can tell "for sure" that Eva is "actually" a man based on their writing, when the women, whether the female members on this forum or my personal friends, either don't care to "unmask" the author, or are certain that the story is written by a woman because they feel like it really understands them.

Regardless of whether Eva Kiss is a man or a woman or identifies as neither or both, I think it's impressive that female fans can actually be invested just as much in these stories and characters, and not feel like women are somehow misrepresented. And if they enjoy the experience, should we, men, tell women about the male gaze, or is it better to leave up to women to recognize female perspective and "call it out" whenever it doesn't feel genuine to them? There's a funny term related to all this that I learned from feminists called mansplaining.
As much as I hate that damn term since it's so often misused (it's simply condescension, a behavior no gender has a monopoly on)... Hard agree here. I'll allow it. :D

As much as a women might enjoy a male gaze on such games, I have the right to prefer if the female protagonist could be delivered from a female gaze. Women, men, can enjoy anything they want. Me, as the individual person that I am, I'd love to see Lena's side through a female perspective. So even if Eva's gender isn't important, as much as I enjoyed both of her VNs overall, I'd rather to see a female perspective of things.

The reason why I decided to speak up is because it is the second game and both games I kind felt bad for the girl I had to play with. I believe the first game, my character end up with girls and the trans character. She didn't get far on the professional career she chose because she'd have to submit to some males wishes and demands. Since she didn't, she couldn't get too far.

And that is my criticism about the game. You don't have to agree, it will still be my opinion and something I'd like to see different, maybe on next games. A girl can date a thousand men, can work as a prostitute/escort if she chooses. Become a porn movie star. I'd just like to see the girl being on control without any male trying to end her career just because she won't become their sex toy and I'd like to see more nice options of men for her to choose, so she won't end up with some shitty guy, since I want Ian to have a relationship with Holly.

That is all, peace!
Isn't a female perspective about how a character perceives the world, reacts in a certain way to certain actions and events, emotionality and sensuality? I'm not a woman, so I can't tell if Lena's thinking and acting is accurate for a 23-year-old girl, but what I can definitely say is that her chapters are very different in perception from Ian's, so there is some difference in perspective anyway.

If the female perspective is that the woman necessarily has options to become an overbearing socialite right away without any obstacles, then it's a complete bullshit that would make the game boring. I think it's realistic enough when a
young beautiful starlet who wants to build a career in media is tried to fuck up by some assholes, especially rich ones. And to me, the perspective is about how the character will react to it and deal with it, not that Lena might say 'Who do you think I am!' and the aforementioned assholes are like 'Oh, OK, you're right, what was I thinking.' Especially since Lena will still have opportunities to succeed without giving into the corruption of Seymour and others, just that path only begins in chapter 9.

Is Win V.9 (478.9 Mb) download only V.9 alone or is it a compressed copy?
Reason I ask is because V.8 download is 1.4 Gb

Okay, need some help. I remember in the older version, you could get Stan to help with the Stalkfap video, even after he saw Lena and Ian having sex. But it seems in the new version, you can't get Stan to help with the Stalkfap video if he saw Lena and Ian have sex.

I was checking the old walkthrough and I meet all the requirements for it, but Lena still won't let Stan help her cause he saw her having sex with Ian. But in the old version, it didn't matter and you could still get Stan to help if you met the requirements. So has this changed then? Is there a new requirement that I don't know about?

As far as I understand the story up to this point, Seymour is the chief villain pulling the strings in the background. Lena is the heroine, Ian seems like a second-rate hero at the moment or a hero in training, but I think his moment for heroism will come. I definitely feel he has some growing up to do. Depending on the decisions the player makes, he can be noticeably prepared for this role. And frankly, I think Lena could use it. There are two ways this can end well for her. (A good ending in the sense I am describing is that she does not become a pawn in Seymour's perfidious game like so many others before her. In the capitalist sense, so to speak. Like the homeless dude that was chewed up and spat out.) Either she develops herself so much that she defeats the villain on her own, or she manages it together with her friends, who are willing to make sacrifices for her if necessary.
Ian has plenty of opportunities to become an asshole and to abuse Lena's trust. But he can also become the man of her dreams, the one who is there when she is down. For me, there is a lot of "female perspective" in this whole plot. Maybe people just have to focus on a different aspect of the narrative or be more patient with the developer, trusting in her ability to create something different this time around.

The alternative, of course, is for either Lena or Ian to give up on the happy ending and give in to temptation. I wouldn't judge them, lots of people choose that path in their life and they find happiness in their own way. For me, that is not a happy ending, but it is definitely a freedom that can only be experienced in VNs. Sure, one can design this corruption in different ways. But the idea has proven itself in GGGB, why should Eva suddenly reinvent the wheel here.

Yes, it changed. Stan can not help you any more.
Yeah went through a whole new playthrough again to try different things, even not inviting Ian over (so Stan won't spy on them). When I did it that way, this time she refused to ask for Stan's help cause she caught him masturbating to her photos instead.

So it seems no matter what Stan can't help with the Stalkfap thing anymore, no matter what you do. Kind of sucks as I liked that part.
