Stan isn't broke, he has a decent job and little expensives. He can afford stupid fan merchandise,which is overpriced.
He has no issues paying Lena for shooting and even pays more if Lena pushes him.
It's Louise who is broke or at least unwilling to pay higher rent. Stan folds to the landlord's demand immediately, he has no problem paying his share, but he wants the other contribute same amounts even though he made the deal all on his own.
