Eva's doing a really good job with very different-feeling narratives in this - Holly as gf, meeting the others for the card game feels very grounded and real, while the Axel path for Lena really does feel like she's losing her sense of sense in a dark way. Of course, compared to Ward, he is nothing, but he still has some kind of connections and also Seymour could be a threat to his independent magazine, given that Hierofant uses magazines as marketing and advertising agencies.

It's 90% true. She is one of the few people that Lena does something normal with - clubbing, games, shopping, dancing. You could say that her not showing up during the Axel shoot means that she is a bad friend and that she knew that everything was a trap. But, until Eva proves the contrary, Ivy could be a friend that thinks that Lena is making a mistake by letting Axel go. She actually thinks that Lena should be with Axel, that they were a good couple and Axel deserves a second chance. And the truth is that we can't blame her for that, she knows Axel, while she barely talks with Ian.

Does she though? Isn't Ivy the one friend who keeps telling Lena to stay away from relationships, that Lena needs to fool around more and avoid the drama that comes with dating?

I think it's unlikely she wants Lena to get together with Axel again, because everything we've seen onscreen suggests that Ivy wants Lena to be free and fooling around. Of course she could have ulterior motives, and her not showing up to Lena's photoshoot is highly suspicious. But I dont think the reason is to hook Lena up with Axel, instead it might have something to do with helping Axel out so she (Ivy) can get a place in WildCats.

After this chapter, I think there's no doubt about it. But I'm not sure it's a proper BDSM since it's basically emotional manipulation and abuse with 2 selfish assholes. Lena's dialogue implies that Axel has always treated her right and made her feel relaxed/free/safe while being with him, yet the first thing he does is doesn't take care about her complaints and forces her to submit. Not in a smooth seductive way but with a brutal hands-on approach. Regardless of how Lena feels about it, how she gets lost in subspace and enjoys herself, this was sexual assault. He pinned her down, restricted her hands and didn't let her escape. That's not how proper doms act unless it's a prepared scenario both consented. Mike and Ian seem to be the only guys capable of handling Lena like a sub while respecting her and caring about her as a person at the same time.

It's probably difficult to strike the right balance in the Axel scene (and the same applies for Seymour's scene), considering the heat of the moment element (at least from Lena's side) and the fact that it's exactly Axel's dominance Lena lusts for, but I'm not completely comfortable with how it's done now.

When Lena stops and asks Axel to wait, the "no space to run" part, how he physically restrains her, and how he then takes her lack of response as a yes, in combination feels too much. I don't think it would take that much to adjust it either. It would feel different simply by having Lena actively give her vocal approval, which could be as simple as a "yes", depending on what Axel says.

Considering their former sex life it would also make sense if they used to have a safeword. Random hypothetical scenario: Lena, when she at some point earlier in the story thinks about Axel, remembers how he made a point out of establishing a safeword at the start of their relationship (that would also make the part about Axel always treating her right more believable). Maybe Lena never even used it—not unlikely, considering how much she seems to enjoy her role in their dynamic. Then, as Axel walks up to her and grabs her, a simple reference to that would make the balance of the situation different: Axel saying "Just say the words, Lena, and I will stop", followed by Lena's inner monologue stating that he always said this, but that she never wanted him to stop—not now either. The sexual power dynamic between them would still be the same, it would just feel less brutal.

I think large parts of the scene is very well executed, but that one part at the beginning also negatively affects the atmosphere of the rest of scene, at least in my view.

It's great that they have so many options about which direction they want to take their relationship. Most of all I'm looking forward to see what possibilities the open relationship holds. It's also striking that both of them could sleep with someone else almost immediately afterwards. It's likely Ian would consider it way worse if Lena sleeps with Axel than with Robert; and while Ian doesn't have the same connection with Cindy, it's definitely the most immoral option for him as well.

I'm looking forward to see what Eva's plans are regarding this. Even though they've agreed to experiment together, they haven't decided on exactly what it means. It's not unlikely that either of them sleeping with an ex-boyfriend or the best friend's girlfriend within hours of their talk, could mean a hit to their relationship score. On the other hand: If both of them does it, none of them are really in a position to judge the other; maybe it could also be a way to really kickstart their open relationship.

The "experiment together" phrasing also makes me think we could see some threesomes or moresomes in the not too distant future. The one character I could see being up for that as of now is Emma. Ian's voyeuristic and Lena's exhibitionistic traits also seems likely to play a role here.

I get what you are saying about the Lena/Axel scene.
Though I think they know each other so well that they just let their bodies do the talking. All the circumstances remind Lena of the past...the furniture, the smell, how dominant Axel was. Axel likes to own, Lena likes to be owned. That's their relationship. The scene fits the characters and the atmosphere perfectly in my opinion.

It depends on what the developer wants.

From a literary standpoint, I'd say that confessing her love wouldn't make sense, as it likely doesn't exist. I think that Cindy is on a road to self discovery and probably sees Ian as a means to an end. Wade has neglected her for too long and she craves attention, spontaneity, excitement, and so on. That leads me to think that she doesn't so much want love, but being desired as a woman, as someone who's told she's beautiful, as someone who's made to feel like she has something to offer. It's possible that this is why Axel makes such an impact on her; he can probably read her like a book.

Makes me wonder if Eva Kiss even met a single black person before . From what I know, they are from Europe so black people may not be that common of a sight.
Even if this is a fictional work, the fact that there is a caricature of black men being this hyper-erotic, corruptive, sexual beings with their BBC is a little concerning. This stereotype had persisted even in the past decade and had contributed to racial prejudices.
Still, I would say that there is really an appeal to "sexual corruption" that a lot of us are drawn to. It's just unfortunate that the perception of an entire race got roped into this kink.
I would still loooooooveee to see Marcel bang Holly while she is in a relationship with Ian. Oh please please Eva Kiss can you make it a reality? Maybe Holly can read a novel to our fellow book enthusiast bouncer while he slams the living shit of Holly's ass? One can only hope.

100% agree. That shit was so random and out of place. Considering that Eva uses porn images and traces over them, she could have very easily picked another photo to draw over. Unless she deliberately added the face, which makes it even sillier.

Did some more experimenting with this. The option does show up when Lena sleeps with Louise, but Ian does need to sleep around to make it selectable due to what appears to be an issue with lust levels. This could potentially be a design bug rather than a script bug or a "works as intended". No python knowledge so I have no idea if it's a script bug, but it does seem more like a design issue.

Potential design bug:
When Lena is screwing anyone else actively (meaning hasn't broken it off yet) but hasn't slept with Jeremy, the relationship option in question appears for Ian to select after their Chapter 9 discussion in the park. But it's greyed out with the lust symbol. About the highest lust Ian can achieve while keeping it in his pants for everyone but Lena is 5. Even at 5, the option is greyed out. The fact that the option appears with a lust symbol, giving him a choice of relationship paths after he's stated that he hasn't slept around, makes me suspicious that this is a design bug, where Eva has set the lust requirement too high without considering this circumstance. If the greyed out option didn't have the lust symbol attached to it, I'd assume it was just a by-design path blocker for an Ian that hasn't slept around. This Ian had otherwise been as crude/lustful as possible throughout the play-through. Hard to say, since I don't know her design intentions for the scenario, but I think it's just something she hasn't considered with all of the other pieces to put into place. Hopefully it gets brought to her attention.

In what I somewhat consider my main playthrough, I coupled Ian and Lena and stood away from the Cindy/Wade drama by all means necessary and didn't pursue any other girl. I guess we can say I went full on romance with Lena and so did she.
My question is: what do you see happening with the Cindy/Wade relation, or if there will be any relation, going foward in this playthrough?
Maybe someone already asked something like this but with 1000 pages...

It all depends on what you, as Ian, did to help Cindy and Wade. In ch 9 there is an option to somewhat vouch for Wade when talking to Cindy after the photoshoot, which I assume will help mend their relationship.
