Holly changes herself like Lena and Ivy because she wants Ian to notice her, it's that simple and not that deep. If Ian is with someone else, then it's a corruption path for Holly if you let Ivy manipulate her. Slutty Holly is still after Ian, you can see her dialogue when she gets with him at the beach house if Ian/Lena breaks up.
If Holly and Ian enter into a relationship earlier, then there is no reason for her to change drastically, sure she can still try to be more confident like Lena but not as slutty as Ivy. That's where Ian's getting over Gillian comes into play if he can commit to Holly or not permanently.
