Because they are? It's in the code, I think. You can max charisma in the last chapter and after that if story progress awards additional points to that branch it doesn't add anything beyond 10.

You can't go beyond 10 so far, the same as you couldn't go beyond 10 in relationships until it got expanded to 12. And there has been several "soft" limits since the beginning where you didn't get an attribute increase if you already were beyond a certain number that got expanded chapter by chapter. I see no reason to necessarily assume 10 will be the hard limit for the whole duration of the game.

Mmmh, I find it weird for EK to have the "vanilla" Gillian content be gatekept by having to watch her get fucked twice in Ian's dream. It fits for a cuck route, but not for vanilla players imo.

The thing that throws me off is that you get this choice when all you see is Gillian and presumably her new boyfriend kissing, and the flag which is supposed to mean "give in" doesn't get set only if you explicitly choose that "yes i want to see my ex getting fucked" follow up, but also if you pick initial ... option which is then rendered as Ian being just too stunned to react but not actively consenting or wanting to see that.

The second dream doesn't give you any choice in that regard, and just uses whatever option the player picked the first time.

It'd be just too weird to me to railroad Ian on the cuck route simply because he was like "wtf is going on" instead of immediately screaming "wake me up, wake me up!" the moment his ex showed up in a dream. Especially since the ... is pretty much his first reaction to seeing Gillian in any context in the game so far, so i feel it's pretty normal option to pick.

* Ian and Lena get in relationship
* then they break up because Lena fucked Axel
* Lena gets back to Axel, and heartbroken Ian gets back to Gillian
* then they accidentally all meet

it ends up all symmetrical, meaning it's a great story

Why are you assuming attribute levels will top at 10?. Relationships levels currently top at 12 for example.

10 is the maxed out stat when you start the game through cheat mode. Its also the highest stat in the character cards. Relationship levels are something independent of the stat levels.

It's also pretty strange the lack of a boyfriend in any of Gillian's pictures. I'm not sure if it would mean there's a reason for that or it's just Eva overextending the mystery of the boyfriend's identity just for the mystery itself.

The account is new and Gillian contacted Ian to have him see it. If she is entirely satisfied with her boyfriend, she wouldn't offer her ex for a date and befriend him. Its clear she has some relationship issues with her current boyfriend and is interested in Ian, hence she contacts him and doesn't mention her boyfriend. That this plausible characteristic interlines with the narrative intent to keep the boyfriend a secret from us is independend from each other (but quite effectively utilized).

Maybe the vanilla route will be accessible to Ian who has moved on and blocked her? Then Gillian would have to make more of an effort, similar to slut Holly. I doubt the last time Ian who moved on sees Gillian is online when he blocks her. So next time they run into each other Gillian might try to force a hangout and if Ian accepts that would open the path up? Just spitballing here.

This seems like side-effect of continuing old save, or playing earlier build of the game. In the current release:

If Ian has deleted Gillian's pictures in Ch.3 then the game should automatically omit the dream sequence and simply have him wake up in the morning.

The variant you have on screenshots will now trigger if Ian didn't delete the pictures, doesn't have any new love interest and interrupted the first dream.

There was a change made in that scene since initial release. Gillian now offers Ian to meet for a coffee if Ian hasn't moved on and admits as much. Also, Ian that did move on automatically rejects her social media request.

Yep. Either way I don't think Gillian would invite Ian for no reason and I also think that reason isn't to just outright cuck him. From her dialogue I think she misses Ian and regrets what she did. So if the coffee date goes well I can absolutely see it ending in the bedroom, which is what I meant with the vanilla/maledom route.

This can't be squared with the obvious foreshadowing EK has done for a Gillian cuck route. Yes, the dreams are also mentioned in the Lena cuck route, but thats a very minor purpose for them and they can still happen without that route. So I think there will be a branch in how Gillian is written based on the dreams happening or not, allowing for both routes to exist.

If Ian didn’t use the right dialogue with her she probably fell for Axel’s bullshit and he owns her now.

If he did say the right words then the Axel threat is probably over but now Ian has to break it to a potentially emotionally unstable Wade that he fucked his gf.

On top of that there’s an unused image in the game’s files showing her sucking a BBC so there’s that too.
