Let's say that's true. But why manipulate people? Why does she behave like that? What led to this? We need a personal background. If we have Ivy villian arc, then why not write her as a controversial character, and not boringly bad, just because.
I doubt about development of character arcs and writing their personalities, because the last few updates I see downgrade characters. Eva now is Ubisofting her game and asking real-life Stan's and Perry's what to do next.
Ironically, I was Eva's defender long time ago.
You don't need to feel bad about defending Eva back then because you had every reason to, the only issue we felt frustrated by was the long wait between updates.
At that time she was actually decent, motivated and had a clear vision... Now I'm not so sure.

I feel like whole episodes would have been better despite the long wait.

"I really hope that Holly went and blew seven strangers on her own, this is just girls having fun, unless her agency was compromised by the influence of drugs, that's yucky."

What's confusing? Doing something on your own volition and doing something that's caused by influence/coercion/blackmail etc. is different.

The difference is that one puts all the blame in poor Holly while the other puts the blame on the real villain of ORS:Ivy fucking Feynman:cautious:

So, when I played through the first time, from Lena's comment and the artwork, I thought Holly was cock-drunk. I was remembering also that Holly's stated fantasies earlier in the game had involved a stranger fucking her from behind, and though that didn't happen here, these were all strangers to her and she was probably getting off on that.

Second time through, it occurred to me maybe Ivy had given her drugs. Probably not against Holly's will, but in this route Holly has been well accustomed to submitting to Ivy's desires whether she really wants to or not. It's also completely possible, as has been said, that Holly was interested in trying the drug. But at the moment it's all very unclear. (It also lends support to BlandChili's idea that it would have been better for Lena to have been present with Ivy and Holly, so both she as a character and we as players know better what happened.)

I do hope Eva steps in and makes things more clear through some dialogue, if not in the Beta or Final, then in the next update as Lena and Ivy are talking on the way to Billy's place, or whenever Lena and Holly see each other next.

This may be interpreted as defending Ivy, and I'll take that risk, but from a story standpoint, I have to admire Eva's ideas of progress in Holly's corruption. A glory hole experience makes logical sense (oof, do I really want to be saying that?) as a next step for Holly. It's multiple partners, which is new for her, but casual and she doesn't have to see them again. It's multiple partners but no penetrative sex at all. It's "secret," as in there's nothing connecting Holly publicly to the act, as opposed to something like doing a stripping session at Blazer, which is honestly what I had guessed would be the next thing Ivy would want Holly to do.

We have seen Ivy take party drugs on her own multiple times, regardless if Lena wants her share too. I'd say it's just her idea of how to have fun, that goes along with casual fucking. So it's perfectly possible she simply shares this idea and practice with Holly, because she thinks that's a way for Holly to have more fun, too. And Holly evidently seems to be onboard with it and does enjoy it.

You may as well wonder if Wade and Ian pressured Holly into taking drugs while at the beach house, what with Holly being supposedly soooo submissive and all. But i don't remember people here wringing hands over that. :sneaky:

There is a difference between trying some drugs during a vacation and then being taken care of while just chilling the rest of the evening and trying some drugs and then your supposed friend is like "yo wanna go to a gloryhole and suck like 7 dicks while I take pictures and share them without your consent lmao".

Like, the gloryhole event is obviously intended for Holly's corruption arc with Ivy so it is very stupid for people to act like the Holly that goes through with it is the same innocent little angel of the romance routes, but Ivy is still the one doing the corrupting. This hardly makes Ivy a villain since it is unlikely Holly's corruption arc will have a tragic ending, but she's still (and always has been) kind of an asshole and a bad influence.

Why, both sound like perfectly good fun times to me.:coffee:

What makes you think that the pictures were shared without Holly's consent?

"Corrupting" is such bullshit concept i don't think i can roll my eyes hard enough at it. :cautious:

Ivy is just teaching Holly how to have fun, in a way that Ivy herself views as fun and supposedly partakes regularly. It's not like Holly is 12 and can't choose not to hang out with Ivy, if she didn't like what Ivy lets her experience. I hardly think this makes Ivy in any way an asshole, or a bad influence, unless we're going to claim that being sexually open and having fun is something bad that no girl should have her hand in? It can be a pretty tall claim when in the meantime player-driven Lena potentially sucks all the dicks and fucks everything that moves.

Nothing, really. We can probably frame it as Ivy just being a good friend to Ian, eliminating his potential future market competitor or even a rivaling novelist.
