Nah, you just don't like his archetype. I for example dislike Stan a lot. You can't change archetypes, the whole point of them is that the characters follow a certain model.Because Jeremy is the worst written and managed. But by all means, try to make it out that the only reason I am complaining about Jeremy is that he is black. -Good job, good effort there kiddo- Can we get a big round of applause for his guy here folks?
Ian has some little to few hiccups and could do with some better writing I'll admit, Axel has issues as well (mainly that he is a possible rapist and is coincidentally involved with apparently everything), Mike has no issues other than if you let Lena chase after him, as to which is entirely optional and doesn't affect the story that much.
How Jeremy is the most flawed and gets the least amount of punishment compared to say Ian. Jeremy fucks around, get caught lying, and what are the consequences? Either you stay mum and have Lena tell him to talk it out with Louise or they break up. Now, does that talk ever happen or get mentioned? Not at all. It's glossed over in place of the imfamous drinking game and of course if we decide to not take part, of course Jeremy rather than play it safe and smart (drunk or buzzed) he decides to be the horn dog dumbass and sticks to the stereotypical black guy player kink in all of porn.
Ian on the other hand: If you just so happen to kiss Holly while also being interested in Lena, oh yeah Lena grills you and goes overtop with her rage. Chase after Cindy and get caught by your "bro" Jeremy? Oh yeah the dumbass has the audacity to say "we need to come clean to Wade" if he too just so happens to still be with Louise. Like excuse me hypocrite who is fucking Alison and is still trying to hook up with Ivy while you still kinda in a relationship with another girl...
You are also comparing Jeremy, an NPC, to Ian, an actual playable character. Ian is a blank slate on which you can project different characteristics, hence the whole point system with Lust/Love and Charisma/Intellect or whatever. Ian goes through a bunch of situations where you have to make choices for him and decide what to do.
Jeremy on the other hand is an archetype and an NPC. He just follows a set "motion".
