Avoiding Emma because of Perry is silly, because it turns out Emma has always been more interested in Ian than Perry. There is no existing relationship between Emma and Perry, except in Perry's head. Cindy is a different matter, because Ian can't avoid Cindy cheating on Wade, to start a relationship with her. But Perry makes no effort to pursue Emma, expecting her to make the first move, which of course is never going to happen, because she's convinced he's only interested in being friends. Getting a boyfriend or even just a fuck buddy is not Emma's main priority, she has a lot of other competing interests. So if you don't make the effort, like Ian and Jeremy both do, you aint going to get anywhere.
