I posted this same comment last year and it still holds up

I was a subscriber for a year on Eva's patreon so maybe I can shed some light on updates. I paid Eva $12 monthly for a full year in 2022 because I really liked the game and I wanted to see it finished. I stopped because development was slowing to a drag even in 2022. I also stopped because supporters seemed to be okay with the game development slowing to a drag.

I remember she posted a life update saying she had no time to work on the game in the month of April (or maybe May?). She offered a vote for supporters; One option was to still take payment and still support the game for the month she didn't work. The other option was a refund for that month. I remember the vote for a refund was low, like 5% (I was in that 5%). IMO if you don't do the work I'm paying you to do then you shouldn't get paid. Its a simple ask.

A patreon helps developers work and finish projects, we pay you to finish a project (i.e. the game). It does not suprise me this game is still creeping along with development. There is no point in racing to the finish line, especially when supporters are supporting it being dragged along.

I'm not asking for it to be rushed. But at this rate and with the roadmap we are looking at being finished 2040 ish. In the meantime I'll check back in 2-3 years to get the next few chapters.
To be fair eva has a already finished game and she is one of the faster devs ...

Also ors is quit complex if you dont just play a single path

"At being finished 2040"

Yeah, I kinda doubt that. The art doesn't take THAT long to make, compared to a certain VN that looks realistic af and takes 1 year+ just for one update. iykyk.

Taller usually means advantage in combat sports because it means more reach, specially in boxing were controlling the distance is key. In the narrative, both Jeremy and Ian are still considered amateurs so their physicality will still means more than the small experience they can gather throughout the game in a bout between any of them and Axel, IMHO I will rank them:
Jeremy > mixartIan > Axel > grapplingIan > boxingIan > a squirrel > Robert
This is true for striking, of course. But in wrestling and grappling, stockier fighters dominate due to their more "correct" centre of gravity, i.e. they are more stable and have better coordination, they don't need to "sit down" as much during takedowns, and they have shorter levers, which is useful for grappling and rapid strength development. In addition, wrestlers are stronger than strikers, and stocky fighters are even stronger due to the "concentration" (smaller distribution area due to, again, short levers) of their muscles.

And yes, they are both amateurs, but Axel is not a professional either, he is just a lifter, whose achievements include knocking out Robert with a sucker punch.

As for strength, bodybuilders are not as strong as many people think, and they certainly don't have the stamina for a prolonged fight. Lifters are distinguished by their strength, well, in lifting, while in striking, it is striking power that matters, which depends more on calisthenic exercises that involve "striking movements" — push-ups and their variations, practising strikes for muscle memory and the ability to correctly transfer body weight for a hefty strike, i.e. technique. And this is where Axel has an advantage in body mass.

I agree, she was faster than most porn devs, still is. But while she was grinding out monthly updates, burning out on porn stills, other devs were milking their fanbases dry for six months before any update or news. Whole teams sipping Mai Tais at Koh Samuis Arkbar, chilling on Chaweng Beach, waiting for their renders to finish, same Daz3D models, same recycled posepacks, same formula.

Meanwhile, she’s sitting inside getting blisters tracing yet another Blacked.com scene, trying to please her white cuck Patreons. Did they appreciate it? Of course not. Just more whining: “Not enough content,” “Where’s Arthur,” “Where’s the incest?” “Too short!”

So she snapped into reality. Said “Screw it,” took the cash route. Now she’s throwing birthday parties every week at Bling Bling in Barcelona, popping bottles with Lamine Yamal and his dwarven entourage. And you know what? After understanding what she went through.. I support her. Go get that money, girl...

Or maybe...get this...

She wants to do big updates instead of smaller ones? And as a result, is taking up more time to do so?

Just a thought.

she literally asked them if that's what they want, and they said yes. not everything has to be doubted. this isn't a conspiracy lmao.
Who said anything about a conspiracy.

Its clear that EK is capable of dropping quality titles and finishing games. But at the same time, its not outside of the realm of possibility to milk your subscribers dry either.

Just look at the people who subscribe and pay for Summertime Saga, a game that has now been effectively restarted from the beginning. The patreon has 33k subscribers and even at the lowest tier which is a $1.50 a month, thats 49k a month for a game that at best has two updates a year, and most of the last two years worth of updates have been a nothingburger and the restart of the game from scratch.

I'm not suggesting EK is dishonest by not updating on a constant basis, but, why rush when people are paying for you to have a full time job?

Especially when EK has 2,498 subscribers and her lowest tier is $3.50. Which yields a respectable income of $8,743 a month. Sure, not as good as Summertime Saga, but still decent enough to live off of.

Surprising that a lot of people here complaining aren't even members of EK's Patreon and are acting like they are obligated to an update. Like come on, you're on a site where you can get access to the game for free. Don't they have other things to do, other hobbies, other games to play. It's ridiculous that people complain to devs especially EK who does their own art and creates branching choices.

Sure and that is fair assumption.

Except, I was a paying member of EK from 2020 till 2024. I quit subscribing to her because of the delays in development, over promising and under delivering on timelines.

I gasp at the thought of how many poutines you missed out on because of that.
A lot unfortunately.

$408 for the four years is a lot of good poutine.

No wonder fewer and fewer games come out because they either get review bombed early or have a shitty people invading their community .
Bro forgot he's on a eroge pirating site.

Before anyone asks. I changed my patreon in 2022 because I ended up getting scammed. So I closed down most of my bank related accounts and had to start fresh.

Same here, used to be a patreon from the (very) late phase of GGGB to the early to mid phase of ORS. Luckily I didn't get scammed but also quit because of the lack of consistency. Maybe wrong expectation based on GGGB which was easier to develop.

But honestly what killed it for me was the permanent whining over her own progress/work-shedule, the "I did not get as much done as I wanted...", "This month I planned to finish but...(insert illness or tragedy here)."

I get that part of patreon is a parasocial relationship to your subsribers however if it devolves into a diary/therapy board I'm out. For me it was more of a patronage system for interesting artists who otherwise might have difficulty getting paid due to the nature of their work (i.e. adult games). EK still puts out good work, not consitently, but still good. If here workflow/approach is fixed, after an honest introspection I might even re-up, but at the moment...hell to the no.

Ah, a modern rendition of the Cinderella tale. All this time, the poor girl was abused under the yoke of her cruel stepmother (in our case it's the unseen malevolent force, paypigging cucktrons), who, in her calculated wickedness, devised a plan to turn Eva into a drawslave. While her entitled stepsisters (fellow smut developers) were partying and living life, she was forced to spend sleepless nights, locked away in her attic room, often passing out in exhaustion from tracing over countless black penises.

Rendering of Eva suffering burns to her hands of all the traced penises she's had to endure.
