Can we please stop with this mentality ! If a game is better than that other below average game it doesn't necessarily mean it's a great one (I'm not talking about ORS specifically, I'm speaking in general).
If every dev followed this excuse of "hey at least my game is not the worst so there's no need to improve it" then good games will become a rarity (which is already happening).
This update is still good don't get me wrong, but it honestly felt weaker than the previous ones, not up to the standard you'd expect from Eva. I can only hope part 2 will fix that.

To me, GGGB is a straight up porn game. What narrative and character exist, are wholly in service to providing raunchy scenes.

With ORS Eva seemed to be trying to "grow up." She spent time developing more complex characters and relationships, and was more focused on providing an adult visual novel than a porno.

This update, more than any other (although in hindsight, this has been coming for some time) has hit the wall that was always going to come from the developer as she tried to cram more and more fetishes into the story.

She has had to branch so hard that maintaining a satisfying narrative and consistent characters, is completely impossible. It has also, clearly, made development time get to a level that is unacceptable. This update is short, and no amount of varying replays is as satisfying as a full experience.

I've always liked Geralt's contributions to this thread, but when they said it took them 2 hours to first run through, I laughed. I imagined a scenario where they fapped for three 20 minute sessions, to individual scenes, because that's the only way I can believe it took 2 hours.

On top of this, even though this episode felt exactly like a GGGB update (a tiny bit of plot and character, and a bunch of scenes), it completely lacked the raunchiness GGGB had at the same stage.

So no one is happy.

That's a turn of phrase, so don't go all "but it was good for me," those of you with the miserable desire to be contrarian.

In my opinion, the developer is trying to do too much, and it is starting to negatively impact the game on every level.

It's strange that people think that everyone plays AVNs just to fap on porn art, I'm more interested in the story progression and the brunches that are in priority for me.
Ofc for the Ctrl brigade, the game runs in 10 minutes, but with careful reading of all the dialogues and a smoke break, this is really two hours. The next routes were shorter as I only read the new scenes carefully.

The rest is good criticism. I agree with opinion that game is incredibly complex and branched, this project is hard for Eva. She could use help of another writer who would give advice on the script.
I only know one dev who is good with a heavily brached game, this man remembers thousands of small details and can assemble them into well-working script. I don't even have to name it, everyone knows him.

This update was just meh, ok it was loaded with sex scenes upon sex scenes especially for Ian and the art is very good but it still felt empty. I dont know what happened but my Ian is now a Giga chad that has fucked every girl in the game except Louise and Holly (and Holly will of course be fucked by Ian in the Summerhouse ) without consequence while Lena`s options feel very limited if she isnt into Lesbian stuff. One of the weaker updates despite having a lot of content.

While he wasn't particularly... eloquent, with what he was saying. The opposite of what you said, and what I think SerHawkes was trying to get it, can also be true. Just because a fetish exists, doesn't mean it needs to be shoe horned into a game just to cater to that fetish.

Personally, I like that the Ed storyline was dropped and that he and Molly are now just a lovingly married couple. It makes them actual characters, rather than just a fetish to be check marked. Considering Eva has made a very intentional choice to make ORS more of an actual plot driven character focused story; Ed and Molly, for me, go a long way to make that a true statement.

What was the point of Ivy asking Ian all those questions at the end of ch 11? Knowing her there's probably an ulterior motive.

Either that or Eva is just trying to give us Ivy scenes with Ian and settled with that .
