Good on his own, but its very detached from the rest of Ian's social circle. That's not necessary a problem, but can become one the more and more it solidifies from a casual fling to a longer lasting relationship (which the heart and not-chad -hatefuck options lead to). It would make Ian a hypocrite if he still laments and sobs about Gillian, when he does a similar thing to someone else, so this character inconsistency has to be dealt with. Regardless, it can be delightful once Ian's other partners like Lena, Cindy or Alison know about it and manifest a rivalry with Minerva <3

Being capable of understanding emotions of another person and feeling for them is basic empathy and something which sets apart regular people from psychopaths. Am not sure if it's really in favor of Cherry to put her on the shelf with the latter. And it's really not "nothing", Cherry had active role in hurting Lena. She knew exactly what she was doing, she knew how Lena was going to feel when that affair comes out but did it regardless. It's the same selfishness we see in Gillian.
