Damn thought this would be the usual Lena/Ian update but it's just Lena

Played it 4 years ago, and it had Me have some bad flashbacks about My own life.

when Lena had a call that one of her parents ill again and that game version ended, it hit Me really hard.

Memories of My mother getting ill, need for operation, mistakes of doctors, working on several jobs to pay for hospital, finding out that My "friends" not really friends (when I had really good wage and they asked for money, I gave it without asking to return it, but when I was asking for help they just looked aside), breaking with My girlfriend when she told to stop wasting money on My family, arriving 15 minutes late for work after spending night in hospital and explaining it to boss, hearing that he doesn't gives a fuck if she dies or not and knocking him out with one punch and losing a job.

After it I didn't approached this game, but still rooting for Lena like if she's real person.

Bro I hope everything is better now! We might be a bunch of degenerates but I like to think that we're here for each other.

Going along with Seymour disposition high turns into kind of a... I dunno. Seymour doesn't have that corruption aura. He just simping on Lena. I mean, holy shit, it started as findom kind of thing, but turned into some old man looking for true love or some shit. I wonder if there is another path if you play hard to get with Seymour?

I am happy that he is calling for Emma though. That was the most promising arc I can see from him. Corrupting Emma with his money and making her betray her values.

Edit: And frankly, Lena's own monologues during that scene was just too far. If Seymour was the only route, I could understand, but she is thinking that Seymour got her completely "mind, body, and soul" but she still got shit going on with Axel, Jeremy and other dudes. Plus, if you turn him down here, Lena doesn't give a satisfactory reason for why she turned him down. Seymour thinks it might be Ian, and she says that's right, but my Lena is all about cheating on Ian lol. I dunno. There wasn't a good path forward for this scene for me. I think the main problem for my playthrough at least was that there was no middle ground. If you reject him, suddenly, Lena is acting completely different than before and it doesn't quite make sense. If you accept him, that whole scene was kinda cringe and I don't want that dynamic between them lol.

Ngl, this update disappointed me even more than the previous one with Seymour. If there is a one thing that makes sex scenes hot, that is a context. When there was a sex, where and why with that person - that all matters, maybe even more than how good was sex itself.

In this update Lena was like “I wanna have sex now, who should I invite?”. Even the wildest orgy with hottest chicks wouldn’t be tempting with such approach.

I initially thought the same now that you mention it, it went too quick - but maybe it is because of the ALPHA status and the rest of the story is filled in later?

Then again, also the text also sounded a bit like a LLM, but maybe thats only me.

A couple folks have mentioned that Eva's current release process of giving us bites of chapters makes the story feel even more disjointed and that's probably true also. I would guess once we eventually have all of chapter 13 there may be more of a flow to it.

It's what everybody is hoping for, but to address the point you made yourself earlier in your comment, Louise throwing herself at Ian out of nowhere makes zero sense if they didn't have a threesome, and that hasn't yet been explained/fixed and I doubt it will be. And the same goes for some scenes with Minerva, some other side characters and at the beach house in the past few chapters. They either happen out of nowhere or the relationship between one MC and a brand new character is completely rushed. And unlike chapter 13, those chapters are already completed, so when will those scenes and relations be properly explained/fleshed out? When the entire game is completed a few years from now?

Despite my general dissapointment with the drip feed of updates... I am going to defend EK here... These mini-updates weren't created for general population play. They were created for the patreon fans who 'wanted to be part of the games creation.'

It's totally on EK then. Imagine allowing any degenerate real life Stan to be part of the creative process.

Yeah, its going to go down hill faster than one night in fucking Bangkok hyped up on ever illict drug possible. There is ZERO chance in salvaging this at this point. I still think Eva's writing is above most, but even I can't defend the fact that the last 5+ updates have been free falling in quality.

Even if that's so, Holly would likely be pretty messed up the next time she sees Lena and Ian. Plus, drugs don't usually change someone that dramatically from their core self, they usually up social lubrication and risky behaviour a bit, not straight up betray loving relationships. It makes more sense for a Holly not in a relationship. If she's hooking up, that's an extreme version of hooking up. But if she's telling people she loves them, those actions are on a completely different track (unless that's been established and communicated extremely clearly and fully).

Updated my compressed Android port of Our Red String to v13.2a.

Got some basic gestures loaded in: swipe up for save menu, swipe down to hide UI, swipe left to rollback and swipe right to skip. Save files are now stored in the Documents folder. This sometimes means that you may need to close and re-open the port after installing so the save folder is properly created.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the ports and I'll see what I can do to get them sorted.
