The decisions to reject or pass a book further is done on case by case basis. You make separate decision for each of them.

I think what they meant is that you approve 2&4 and also any combination of 1&3 then it's a middling outcome. But if you reject 2 and/or 4, then you messed up.
Basically this. Although after this discussion, I wonder if maximizing book_points might be a red herring. It means the book is good literature but it might not necessarily mean the book is good from a publisher's perspective. For example, if you choose to write a sci-fi book, a metaphysical love story is the better option for book_points but doesn't sound like something very popular for a mainstream audience. Same thing with the "choosen one" option using deterministic physics. It sounds like a book with the same "faults" as the third book Ian reviews.

It may be. There's a good chance whatever Lena's situation with Seymour will trump everything else, which would be shitty but accurate. I hope Victor steps up in those cases, and Ian can still get published, just on a smaller scale.

We're really close to some major climaxes of the story. Tournament, photoshoot, possible promotion, battle of the bands, book contest, living situation.

Shit, that's what, ~3+ more years of development? And that's glossing over all the relationship stuff, which will be woven in.

I think it's probably bit different if the score allows your book to win the competition -- this alone can cause wider public interest, and the publisher is going to be interested with such advantage, regardless if the story isn't the most convenient, generic pulp.

Ivy-death-> yay or nay?be honest!;)
I still have my Ivy playthrough in solidarity with SerHawkes, but I do miss Ivy being the slut with the heart of gold. Back when she could see Wade for who he was / could be rather than who he currently is and she held a soft spot for Perry's stutter. Ivy has certainly taken on the roll of a manipulator recently with how she was talking with Ian about Cindy, how she treats Holly and sometimes Lena, and the implication of setting Lena up with Axel. Those recent changes have soured me a bit on her as a person. As a character she's more interesting I guess.

To be fair, her role as a manipulator is entirely up to the players choice. Yet I would say most of her actions and behavior, while certainly suspect and questionable, don't have the weighted proof to confirm her as a villain per se. Her setting up Lena with Axel could entirely happenstance, her treating Holly and Lena at times is more so her likely wanting fun and to 'liberate' Lena and Holly into her own circle of likely debatchery. Her trashing Cindy is pretty much on par of her being bitter of not winning the modeling spot, which lets face it, really should have gone to Lena instead, which in all likely hood would have made her somewhat bitter but likely would have understood given Lena's situation.

For me, my interest in her has be two fold. One, I find her absolutely sexy as hell even with her chaotic fun times. Two, pending on how EK pulls it off, I can absolutely see her having a fall from Grace and needing to redeem herself of sorts. And I would absolutely love to see. The 'bad girl redemption arc' if you will. Yet naturally, EK has butchered her development and treatment far to many times and has used her only in 3-4 sexual scenes while at most so using her for simple fan service. It's entirely amazing how a character that has been apart of the game since it's very first iteration be completely butchered with the lack of content.
