Cindy is a terrible person in general (and Ian has to be a backstabbing friend just to get to her as well, only for her to then turn around and fool around with roid rage blondie and never really commit).

There are two variants of Cindy's path. The one that you are stating is the needy dumbass love path, (has the same outcome in casual Cindy path). But if you distanced yourself and called her out on the BS she was spewing before her work trip, then you get the best Cindy love path; she commits to Ian.

Carefully read this sentence again. You might see the flaw. Gillian cheating on Ian is the root of most of his struggles with self-esteem. She hurt him the most by a mile.


At no point in time is Ian in relationship with either Cherry or Cindy. So they can't really cheat on you. Cindy is a terrible person in general (and Ian has to be a backstabbing friend just to get to her as well, only for her to then turn around and fool around with roid rage blondie and never really commit).
Minerva is a married woman and a lot needs to happen in the coming chapters in order for their romance to work out. She made Ian's life hell in the beginning for no real reason other than being unsatisfied with her own life. Moreover, she's not everyone's cup of tea characterwise.

For what's worth, i think that the dumbass love path might eventually get similar results to "smart Ian", just with Axel getting to make few more polaroids on the trip. Ian does (eventually) see through the issues and chooses to distance himself on that one, not unlike on the "setting boundaries" approach, but later and with more drama, and the love variable is dropped to 0.5 rather than erased.

You can try the walkthrough by MR.Bubu. I don't remember the exact dialogue or the scene currently.

My assumption would be that she's at a restaurant and that's how it was served to her. Someone else took that picture of her it appears.

Alternatively the reason is just that this is shit ai and Eva couldn't be bothered to prompt something more specific than "redhead with cake."
