It is supposed to happen, because Chapter 14 hasn't really started yet. What you played was a preview, not an update.

Striking or grappling? To my surprise, striking has been pretty good since Ian could actually land a few hits rather than defending everytime, and I was able to go for a submission despite focusing entirely on striking.

The question is if its worthwhile to release 3 minutes of content. Or in your example, just handing out spoons of batter and nothing else. Yes, its explained in the patreon that its a tease for the higher tiers. But wouldn't posting two or three pictures not accomplish the same? You have to download 1 GB and start the game, which may just take longer. It's like going to the cinema and paying for a trailer.

It didn't. The backgrounds have been in a slightly different, less "cartoony"/traced style than the characters use, for a long while now. I think EK has mentioned experimenting with AI for backgrounds around Ch.10 or so. The car is a direct throwback/copy of the asset from GGGB, that's why it doesn't match and it was also always like that, all way back to where it first appears in early episode(s) where Ivy drives others around in it.

As for the amount of content, it's explicitly just a very early sneak-peek preview for the supporters. Not actual update.
