That would be fine and all if it was explained better, because I wouldn't call dating multiple people "experimenting" and the text mentions making the relationship more "open" so it would be interesting if you can have a legitimately open relationship at the point you mentioned it, but that's pretty late in the game, and I'm skeptical. The idea is for them to experiment together so that's not really a permit for either of them to fuck some third party on their own. It's not an open relationship. The "experimenting together" starts after a while with potential threesome with Louise and then maybe Emma down the road.
In the meantime if Lena cheats on Ian at the club and he finds out about it through Jeremy, this creates a possibility to switch to actual open relationship during discussion in Ch.13 at Perry's beach house.
Yeah, it definitely bothered me that I was dating 3-4 people with both of them, and then "let's just keep experimenting" doesn't mean an actual "open" relationship, but I digress. I'm really not a fan of how locked in so many of the routes are from a narrative perspective when it comes to "cheating" but I know there's already a ton of variation as it is.This is one of the plot descisions that confuses me. Maybe the meaning of "open relationship" is different for some, and "experimenting together" would be fine, if there were more than one option after this descision. After the beach, they are full romance, possibly thruple (current release), so very few experimenting options at all.
I guess the experimenting 'should' include them both, but in the coding and choices (mby) it's named open relationship, possibly the source of my confusion. The underlying dialog as I can remember it is something along the lines of keeping things the same, but being in a relationship, and if that were true they have both been whoring around if you take all options, but continuing that is not entirely possible, esp for Ian. The over dramatics about the cheating crisis and lack of choices at the beach is annoying to me. They both acted like horndogs, then they get all hurt that it might have continued, weak story point for me.
