If you could only play as a dude i wouldn't even play the game, it would be just another generic male protag game for me, i'm here mostly for Lena content and some Minerva on Ian side.
I bet i'm not the only one here that thinks in similiar fashion, so no, i think it would not be better at all.
Your oversimplification of female protagonists comes from trashy porn games, wich GGGB is not.
You could do the same "romance stuff" in GGGB, get a job, become a star and just settle with 1 dude/girl or cheat on them with multiple partners, i liked it, and i like this game the way it is now.

The opposite for me. Lenas content is filler that I have to trudge through until I can play the content that actually interests me. In Lenas case I pick options that minimize her impact on the story and skip through the rest of her story.

As for your comment that you are not the only one that thinks Lenas story is worthile, is an idiotic debate tactic called appeal to majority, and it does not legitimize your argument. Congrats you have an opinion, your opinion is not any less or move valid than any other.

No problem. I believe the goal on Patreon was for a certain amount of funds reached through subscribers. With that goal met, Eva could hire extra help. The profile pic was from an image Eva shared a few years back on patreon for a certain sub tier. Admittedly, I haven't been subbed the whole time, just here and there when I was feeling particularly weak... haha

Fuck me man, I swear some of the choices in this game feel even worse than Pale Carnations somehow.. anyone know what I mean? It's like PC is super fucked in a more traditional, literal sense, whereas choices in ORS feel... more personal and realistic? That's what makes it worse for me I guess.

Honestly, this game is a breath of fresh air in terms of playing Male & Female MCs. I enjoy the fact that Eva Kiss is doing differently with branching choices that matter. I mean if it was another solo male or female MC game people would probably ignore it or complain about it being cliche. At least with this game, you have the best of both worlds.

But to add me nitpicks so far:

Lena's guy romances are pretty lame like the only guys I like with her or in terms of sex with Ian & Jerm but in terms of her female romances, I like her with Holly more than Ivy & Her roommate.

Ian, I like all the girls but feel he has more chemistry with Lena, Holly, Cindy & Alison.

Back on the subject of Ian vs Lena, one thing that I am noticing while playing the chad Ian route is that Ian has a lot less cheating options. Alison route seems to be force closed. Holly route was already closed off long ago if you go for Lena. There is a possibility that Emma route can continue, but can't be sure yet. So there is only Cindy route (and Minerva I guess lol) if you want to go for the playboy Ian who cheats on Lena. Cheating with Ivy definitely seems like a possibility in the future though (flipping the script on Jeremy x Lena dynamic heh).

It's basically the consequences of the character personalities I suppose. Holly is obviously not gonna be on board with a secret relationship. Alison is the most yandere of them all and will flip her shit if she feels like she is a side chick. Cindy works because it is mutual cheating and she has the incentive to play ball. Emma is a chaotic good free spirit. She might be down for some fwb if you can convince her that you are not being overly cruel to Lena.

Meanwhile, all the dudes are obviously fuckbois who will be cool with some adultery lol.

I really loved Alison's content in chapter 9. Too bad I don't have a save for a dedicated Alison route.

Huh, I managed to get book points = 8, without realizing it, and in the same genre. I guess there's a particular logic Eva is following that isn't consistent with a Braveheart-type dramatic rendition of historical fiction. I leaned it more to grand themes and the human condition instead of drama.

I personally never make Ian and Lena a couple, i dont do self inserts, but i also still control them both so it feels kinda weird, i just make them friends and have them date/cheat separately, i wish there was the possibility of some kind of bromance between them were they share conquests or somethin, like Ian with Jeremy, that would be hilarious.
Imagine that dialogue "Bro, i just sucked off your boi Jeremy, anyway, how was your day".
