just alter the game file and turn the shader off(=0)

I can't, damn thing won't let me. I open the file, change the shader, and try to save but it won't save into the file folder. Instead, it gets saved into an INetCache folder by default. If I save it to just my desktop or any other and try to replace the main file by drag and drop, the main file gets deleted and the edited file refuses to replace the old one.
