Unfortunately, in their current state where there is no weight or focus for "main" tags, the tagging system manages to fulfil its "negative" role of warning against undesired fetishes but fails (IMHO) when it comes to informing the player that the game is worthy of their time as it contains the fetishes they seek. The reason for this is that the frequency or weight of the fetish is not communicated, only its exitance. Thus a big tits lover, for example, will have hard time looking for a big tits focused game because any game with even a single LI in one scene will be tagged as big tits while a game where all the LIs carry watermelon-like udders will have the same tag.
I agree on that.
As someone who enjoy's as example -> NTR - we already have the issue that NTR in this tagging System summarize

- Netorase
- Netori
For People who don't like that Tag/Genre, it's easy for them bundle it together and disregard any differences, for People who are into NTR that can have an huge impact. Even further - you an have people who enjoy Netori, but hate Netorare and Netorase and vica versa. That' would be something which would've been cool if tagging tackles.
That being said, even if we ignore that point rn, there is like you said, that tagging works pretty fine if you filter it out for the negative but it's problematic if you use it for your positive thing. Like again for NTR - i digged out recently Braveheart Academy in itself a great game, still an great experience, can absolutely recommend it but when i looked up for it, i was into the mood for something NTR, and what do you get? A single bad-end scene (in itself well done).
That's kinda where we have an issue right now - how much Content can you expect for your "kink"... is it avoidable or not etc etc. Sure some folks put in the OP a more detailed description which answer some Questions, but it's harder to filter it out when you look at latest updates or such.
Because let's say like "No-Sxual Content" - which is a Tag which i personally find pretty unneccessary for a website like this BUT i bookmarked the Latest Updates Page with filtering out, because this is an Absolute Tag where is nuance to it. Either you have Sexual Content or not. But let's say Gay, Lesbian, Futa, Sissifications which i'm really not into it, if i filter them out i might lose potential great games where this stuff is avoidable / player-choice. So i've to go into each listed Game and either check description or ask the topic...

I dunno if i would say an "overrated" Tag, rather for me there is underused Concepts. As an Example and again as pointed out above, i enjoy NTR Games, - which isn't that lacking, but i personally prefer rather the Sandbox-Approach where you have influence over it and you can go straight Vanilla / Romance / Harem, or a more corrupted sense like Swinging / Sharing and or nuances / full road of NTR. But i'm not as fond of too kinetic or limited stuff.
But except that i don't find any Tag really overrated, simply not my Kink.
