After downloading the latest update and loading my save file from the "You have reached the end of this build" save state, I got a Python error that did not allow me to continue the story.
I had to load my previous save and repeat the final conversation from last build to be able to continue with the new content.

Story-wise and lower level, there's Cohabitation by Redux which is about corruption within a household. It's completed but a very slow burn from what I recall.

Harem Hotel has a LOT going on content wise, but the story is not as dark as Pale Carnations

Depraved Awakening and City of Broken Dreamers certainly are darker and you might find similarities. I haven't played them to comment.

Finally, Countess in Crimson would have a small village, magic, and you trying to be either a decent guy or an asshole who also corrupts or enchants the women you'll be involved with.

Sadly, I don't play too many really dark and corrupt games similar to Pale Carnations, but that should give you a few options to begin to find what you want and get a similar feeling.

The MC´s Dad died from natural causes (as far as we know), but suddenly when he was a young boy. Viktoria became a pornstar, NOT a prostitute, to keep a roof over her and Edwin´s heads, since they got no one else who cared. It is not fully clear what she works now, but there are hints towards an office job.
The MC is a medicine student and has few problems with the workload at the Club. He is moszly needed on weekends over the majority of the year, only during the Carnations month he has more to do.

Died from complications due to an accident.
Yes she did porn because she didn't want MC's life to change so drastically right after his dad died.
I want to say she's a music teacher but I don't think its ever said what her job really is.
He's pre med and his school is on summer break.
