Most info we could get on Grace painted a consistent picture of an envious, selfish harpy, nearly dead inside only interested in selfgratification and her fancy family facade. These update underlined this once again and showed how dangerous she can be if she runs or threratens to run to Chuck for help. Grace was an asshat from the first second of the game.BTW, I'm still grinning while thinking about our bros who were fantasizing about steamy sex between Edwin and Ian's mother - my little prediction is that Sophia's aficionados are next in line for their treat.
Sophia is quite different, she wears a grey hat. Dr. Lundgren is an amoral, ends justify the means genius. She is emotionally stunted by her eccentrism and high abstraction of life, but she feels. Unlike Grace, who seems to be able only to enjoy negative emotions, Sophia feels the fulll range, but constricted by several factors.
For example, she enjoys bringing in a different touch. Chemistry is full of rules and tight definitions, part of her creations bring in a bit of Chaos. Her expression says much.
By the way, since you are one of the discussion members who go on about her using the perfume undiscriminately and to mellow Edwin, that is not really the case. Edwin finds Sophia so easy to talk to, when most other people have problems with it. Even Kath is unnerved by Sophia´s eccentric, blunt, in the face talk. I know that you will now argue that Sophia is a honey trap for Edwin, but that does not really fit. As far as we know, Sophia is always like this, she is too eccentric to be honey trap material.
Another difference between Sopia and Grace is that Ian´s mom disliked and hated Edwin practically from the first minute they met. She even tells our MC exactly that.
For Sophia Edwin clearly started as a neutrum to be seen what he turns out to be. They connect due to their shared nerdiness and they are closer in spirit than most other characters in game. You can even make sure they click to the extend possible at the time. Once again, for someone emotionally out there as Sophia is, her behaviour/actions during the late phase of the talk and during the "home invasion" are quite significant if we tried to get on her good side.
By the way, since I read a number of posts, which state some theories what I supposedly argue for: I am well aware that Sophia is not a fully good person. Not for nothing I count her among the grey hats. She is not a bad person, but eccentric and does not shy away from making hard choices when needed. When I say not a bad person this is connected with the fact that the official reason they are at the club is pure bogus. Abel and Sophia have access to black ops labs where they could test and make questionable experiments to their hearts´content without much risk. And their loathing of the the current PC leadership is obvious to us. As I mentioned in earlier posts, I estimate Abel and Sophia being on an own crusade against Chuck and Co. or punchclock villians for an acronym firm or organisation.
Further I am also very aware of the fact that Sophia is an amoral, eccentric nerd genius. A happy romance with her is certainly different from a normal romance! Which is one major reason I am all for a happy romance between the MC and Sophia! While they would have an amount of "standard" romantic events (e.g. going to the ice cream parlor and the cinema) there would also be romantic events only an eccentric person would see as such.
And while I hope for a happy romance for an MC-Sophia couple, I am also aware that the chances for it happening are not good.

That's why you shouldn't take it seriously, I thought it was obvious. Even Edwin x Grace sex is very unlikely for various reasons (if only because of what Chuck might do and honestly, the only way it could happen is via drugs which Edwin wouldn't use against Grace I hope and Ian definitely not, considering it's his mother).
As for Victoria scene, I'm not sure what you're getting at when it's really simple. Victoria said she can't force Ian to go to school and she refused to "guide" Ian in the right direction because she felt it would betray his trust. The best she could do was to give advice from one mother to another. After the carrot method failed Grace went for the stick and then things escalated quickly, Victoria threw a tantrum and wanted to beat Grace up and Grace put Victoria down with a "bomb".
But in the end the leverage Grace got wasn't that huge since Victoria decided to tell the truth herself. So yeah, instead of doing a simple, rational thing Victoria decided to do the opposite and all of this for drama and our entertainment. She was crying because she was afraid and ashamed of herself and for a good reason. Let's be honest, she didn't have to sell her body, Edwin said so himself and she must have known that sooner or later the past might catch up to her.
It's one thing that she tried porn to earn some money (that's what first 4 times were for), it's another when she actively sought out more "prestigious" studios after all that, knowing perfectly well that the more prominent studio the more likely it is kids at school would find out about it giving Edwin hell. During the interview with Don it's heavily implied that she does it for the money and her own pleasure. A role model mom, right?

I don't think it's necessarily an "either of" thing. Victoria could very well decide to try to influence Ian, but at the same time she's still terrified of this freshly revealed Damocles sword that's Grace knowing her secret, and after getting thoroughly drunk might've decided it's better to be the person who does the reveal, than live eternally in fear it might slip out.
Ehh, that's kind of bullshit. It's more than reasonable to try and find a place with better working conditions than to put up with the lowest tier of shit.
Someone that has the curiosity to see things from different angles i see. Still at the end of the day only the devs know what the heck will happen, corruption games can be pretty wild and unpredictable, sometimes your favorite female is getting a lot of content and bum she dead the next update XD. Don't get attached people anything can happen.

My point was that after those 4 times she should have stopped (especially since such amateur videos would be hard to find, Don's studio was another matter entirely), especially since she wasn't desperate for money, instead she went for more. Which makes me wonder, how many times/movies did she make until she was satisfied?

Hadn't played the last few updates but decided to get caught up with Ch4 Up5. Running Win 11 24H2 (latest update) on a Legion Go, apparently the ancient RenPy 7.3.x pukes mid-game with a "software rendering" error, then the game goes into a loop. Bummer.

This, to me, shows that all things compared. Our MC has a quite limited field of view and experience.
He doesn't take into account that he probably wouldn't know Iain without the choices his mom made.
He'd probably go to a worse school, live in a far rougher area. Maybe have worse access to good food.
His view is extremely naive. This wasn't about normalcy, but to make sure her son didn't loose even more.
But that's a result of Victoria doing (probably way) more than 4 porn flicks. And even then, Edwin notes that the money was tight.
Playing in porn flicks is not a lucrative career. If it was, then there wouldn't be so many girls washing out after just 1 or 2 when they discover it's actually not fun (or at the very least less fun than they thought) like Donovan notes.
And are we seriously going to look down our noses on her and turn it into Victoria not being a good mother because she did questionable thing to shield Edwin from these alternatives? As opposed to making his life miserable so she could avoid making more porn movies?
On a completely different note, peeking in the game script it's kind of funny that when you meet Rose she tells MC that she has this idea/fantasy of sex without any talk, just with eye contact... but in this update if you pick this option with her it has no impact on her libido, and it's actually choosing to express yourself in words that adds a point to it.

I'm pretty sure that when she said "four" it really was "four". Why would she lie to an employer and porn-veteran who might have done some preliminary background check (which his "it's not your first time" suggests) before he allowed for them to meet? He has assistant, an office and as Victoria said is a big step-up compared to her previous "colleagues" so wasting his time and lying to him would be counter-productive.
As for porn being not lucrative, that's actually an argument against Victoria as a mother. Instead of getting another job or some less dirty side-gig (or just lowering her living standards) she decided to take a path of least resistance.
I didn't say that Victoria isn't a good mother, I heavily implied she's not a role model like some of you are implying. And yeah, lowering living standards seems like not such a bad deal considering the alternative of a risk that EVERYONE at school would know that Edwin's mother did porn. With each movie she did that risk increased significantly and once she shot with Donovan it was practically assured that it will get out sooner or later (we're talking about a woman who went to a porn studio in a town she was living in).

I think we have a misunderstanding here. My point was, that you are talking how Victoria should've stopped making porn flicks after she made these 4, because you believe she made enough money with those 4, and cite Edwin's words as the proof of it.
But the situation Edwin talks about is one that is a result of Victoria not stopping at those 4. She made additional ones afterwards with Donovan, and Edwin's financial situation is the result of this decision (and the extra money she made)
In other words, if Victoria stopped at those 4 flicks like you say she should've then Edwin's and hers financial situation would be way worse than that. If you believe that would make her "a better mother" then, well, fine, that's something we'd just have to disagree on.
