Hmm how to explain.

A guy MC who is making his way as a pre-med student and making extra money tutoring other students is sick and tied of trying to teach people who have no interest in learning.

He is ready to finds money elsewhere to help pay his way through school.

He then has an old friend send him a letter in the mail inviting him to a new job, one that will blow his mind in more ways then one.

Suddenly he is in a world he could never have dreamed of.

Beautiful women, friendly, and some of them, not so much...

A couple of guys that are nice people at heart, and others that are assholes.

And a new look at life in a way he could never of dreamed of before.

And of course the MC can be a nice guy, or he can be bad to the bone.

I highly recommend this one despite the dark and debauched tone the of the overview. The writing of the VN is fairly serious here and worth a read. I did not think I was going to enjoy this as much, despite my own interests being rather vanilla on this site. Rather it turns out, to my surprise, it's likely the best way to enjoy the story anyway as you confront corruption.

The main theme of the Carnation Club is not just about sex, it is a story of trauma, and inner moral conflict about the temptation of easy money versus how far you'll go to exploit other people. Or whether you decide to stay to fight the system the best you can, and stop the filth where possible, because you know your replacement would mean the continuation of the abuse. There are many hours of content released so far. One of the things I like best about it is that it's hard to predict what's going to happen next, it's a fun and terrifyingly filthy ride.

The story has its interestingly deep moments, wholesome moments, and disgusting(skippable) moments, but there is also a hot ass MILF who is down bad. 10/10

TLDR: Might actually be the greatest game on the site.

I was loathe at first to give it a go because just by skimming the description, 'cruel erotic games' and sadism aren't really my thing... but I'm SO happy I did. The art + story are great but the character writing is amazing, legitimately mindblowingly good. I haven't played this game in months but I still remember the girls from the game (and the MC) clear as day, that's how memorable they are!

BTW, if you're curious, there isn't actually that much of a focus on sadism etc., like sure at the club the game does show some of those scenes but it makes up like maybe 5% of the gameplay experience and you can just skip those scenes if you like (which I did at times).

The vast majority of the game is actually wholesome as hell, I'm not even kidding - some of the most likeable and well-written characters I've encountered in erotic games.

(Oh, and obviously the hot scenes are hot as all hell. The girls are insanely fucking hot. Like goddamn. The elite writing makes the sex/erotic scenes even hotter )

Extremely replayable, I'm omw to replaying it as we speak.

Finally got around to replay this (chapter 4 update 4) and update my review - visual novel with a male MC.
The best bdsm-game on this site. Gorgeous renders, really well written story and characters. The sex-scenes are hot and draw you in.
Plot is about three women who compete in a sex-club for a prize - each woman has something she's willing to fight for. You play as their "manager" who motivates them and keeps them competing. Each of the three competitors is fascinating and is more complicated than they seem at the beginning. There are also two other girls you can seduce - so five main heroines. There are also some sidegirls, but they only have scattered scenes and you can't focus on them.
For the NTR-complainers - the three competitors can have sex with other people, but with the right choices you can keep your favourite for yourself.
There is a lot of reading - don't expect a stroke-story - I personally love it.

Has a lot of really varied bdsm-content - among it stuff I have not seen in any other game. The club tries to break the competitors will through humiliation, pain and shame - personalised for each competitor - has spanking, whipping, bondage, device bondage, humiliation, exhibitionism,....
The nice part is that it is all consensual - while they might dislike it, all girls willingly compete to reach their goals.
It also has a great story - the main story beats stay the same, but within that structure your choices actually matter and change outcomes and your relationship with the characters.

Each and every update keeps me on the edge of my seat. This is deservedly consistently the top game on this site. The creators take their time with the updates, but always deliver quality, update regularly and seem to have the story planned out till the end.

The game is far from being complete, but with the current (Ch 4 Up 4) amount of content, it is the BEST HS1 (Honey Select 1) art style based AVN and in general the best AVN to date.

I play AVNs for the story, sex scenes are just bonus content. And this game has both amazing story and animated sex scenes. Be warned though, the game is not for the light hearted.

This game have everything. Let me explain why: first of all you can change the MC, from being "normal" to a total sadist. You have an incredible roster of girls, from a sociopathic hag, to a cute blonde babe. Then, almost every girl route can branch, for example you can choose to a GF or FWB relationship.
There are some long periods where you can't find any of the thing called sex, but I guess you wouldn't play VNs if that is a problem

At the very least this is one of the best HS AVNs out there, but in my opinion Pale Carnations is the best AVN period.

I'll admit that this game may not be for everyone, especially for the most vanilla people who can't tolerate bdsm, humiliation and prostitution. Yes, MC's mom was a whore because she had no money and had to feed his son. That's a story of motherly love. And yes, you work in an upper class "brothel".

This game tells the story of a young man who discovers the depths and the many layers of human psychology and may or may not indulge his most depraved (mostly sadistic) desires: that's up to you. You can be an asshole or be a good and empathetic person or something in-between. That's a story of debauchery. Anyway, who said a sadistic person is an asshole? Choices matters and have consequences and there's a good amount of branching which greatly improves the replayability.

In any case, there is a total of 5 LIs and 2 of them are not selling their bodies, if that's a problem for you. There are a lot of wholesome, emotional and romantic moments, especially in the latest updates, even with the three Carnations. I've found a lot more romance in Pale Carnations than in other famous AVNs.

Music is good, writing is excellent, animations are great, renders are the best in the business as far as Honey Select goes. There are even some SFX sounds during lewd scenes: I hope that Mutt and Jeff will keep using them and add new ones.

I'm really looking forward to the next updates and the remaining exhibitions. I expect the worst, in a good way.

I have to say this game surpassed my expectations, here are some of my impressions:

1. Story: It was interesting and every plot was engaging to the point where I couldn't stop playing for hours. I think its main asset is the hotness/lewdness... I mean if this is not the hottest AVN out there it should at least in the top 3.

2. Characters: Excellent characters. The MC can become a twisted pervert MF (hahah..I liked that). Girls are awsome, at the beginning I thought some of them were a bit dull but as the story progresses you get to know their real motives and their backgrounds.

3. Music: Great tunes so far.

4. Renders: I'm not gonna lie they're not great but good enough.

5. Animations: Not bad.

So far this avn is definitely a 5-star no doubt, however, I prefer to rate games from 1-10, so I'd give it 9/10 because IMO there are 2 things that could be better: 1st the writer, at times (and despite being very good most of the time), writes too much (and by "much" I mean there are some unnecessary texts here and there) and 2nd I wished the renders and animations were better (sorry if i'm being ignorant and maybe this the best that this engine has to offer).

So, I think this is a MUST PLAY for everyone interested in AVNs especially for those who like nasty MCs xD

I'm almost 3/4 into the game and I'm loving it so far. I don't want to spoil anything but can say the writing is excellent. The characters are captivating and the story interesting. The models are 10/10 and the debauchery up there, although I wouldn't mind if they could turn it up a notch.

It has been a rollercoaster ride for me and after reaching week 2 I told myself its enough because I couldnt bear to watch more of this. So first of all, MC's mother is a whore yeah you read that right so as you progress through the main route you will get a flashback of his mother doing a porno shoot and getting banged by random male guys and seriously you cant avoid this, dev didnt even bother to put option to skip this or avoid it.

The next is veronica feeding scene yeah right she gets that as a punishment for punching her sponsor and kathleen suggested this punishment to her so what will she eat? You guess....Pig's intestine, some sperms of some unknown animals,etc yeah I seriously wanted to puke after watching this and wanted to kill kathleen in real for suggesting this shit.

The next is your best buddy killian I think he gets more laid than you and there are scenes involving him and there is no option to skip the scene, yeah he's a good guy but I dont wanna see him banging some characters...the scenes involve with random female character ( Non- LI) but later on you can share your LI such as rosalind or felicia if your bromance with him is high or something ( I dont know much but I checked on the gallery )

Lastly, there are random sex scenes involving random female characters with other males yeah and you cant skip that too at least if the dev would have given us an option to push the camera away from it would have been much better and yeah there are scenes like while you are talking with some big macho dude ( Sam or something ) some random girl is sucking him and there are some lesbian scenes which are part of main story like veronica and kathleen..I dont know much but I suppose there will be lots of scenes ahead with felicia,rosalind and veronica ( They are LIs ) and they are part of exhibitions so I think they will be getting banged by other than our MC.

Conclusion :
I knew what I signed up for after reading the tags but I didnt know it was that bad I thought at least it would have been avoidable or skippable or at least dev would have implemented warning before any of these stuffs started but no and seriously I didnt expect veronica feeding scene and MC mother being a whore. Of course writing and able to shape up your MC and relationship mechanics are good and you can make even MC a literal kind and generous who is considerate of others. No offense but better stay away from it if you dont like sharing your females and you dont want to watch unavoidable stuffs.

One of the best written VN I have ever played, the interactions between characters feel natural and not forced or cringy. If you're looking for a good written plot in a game, then this one will impress you. I'm surprised at how much contents in this game for only 4 chapters currently.

If you're looking for a quick fap with some specific fetish in mind then this is not for you, don't be a dumbass and complain about the lack of sex scenes in this kind of game.

I personally like the build up and decent plot instead of *BOOM* meaningless sex all of sudden.

The story is engaging and doesn't need much time for you to become immersed and interested. The characters have rich personalities, and you'll inevitably start shipping one of the girls. Kinkwise you can find almost anything.


My biggest Con:
The game is too good, and I'm not even kidding. Once you reach the end of the build, you'll feel empty. You'll come to realize how depressingly boring real-life people are and start questioning life itself.

The only cure I can suggest is to replay the game several times and start hitting the gym

Im a nitpicker motherfucker that likes to prented to know more than I actually know about a lot of stuff. And having developed a taste for VNs...
All I can say is that, this game is so unparallel that for the first time I simply enjoyed a sex scene, this is like.. beyond triple-A story, it's like from some reaaaally great obscure romance, this is erudition in form of a game... bravo!

Almost no cringe, which is rare for these games.

Every scene (not just the H content) feels so real with how the characters interact and express emotion. I forget this is honey select or even an AVN at times.

The relationship system and intertwining routes are impressive.

The characters are so good that it's honestly hard to commit to just one.

helping - if you are nice enough you can score a lot of points in veronica scene

i still can't give 5 stars because i hope game will get there eventually, but not 5 for now

Very seldom do I write a review but I just wanted to drop this one because this game is a well deserved n1 top rated on the whole site. Let me start by describing this game by borrowing one of it's many lewd scenes because it's inch perfect description as you can get for Pale Carnations.

Honestly I was very skeptical trying out this game, being top rated and all, fully expected it to be massively overrated like most in the top 15. I was also this close to letting it go because the beginning is a bit long and rought around the edges, but I stuck with it through this and was rewarded in full.

There's not much for me to really add to the long list of 5 star reviews that wasn't already said before, but let me at least say this.. stop looking at the girls as love interests and instead take them for what they really are, sexual wish fullfilment fantasy. The game is masterfully designed around just that, giving you a genuis setting with fuckable characters where you can let loose. The sexual content is exhaustive enough so that most people find something to enjoy.

I personally wasn't much into the BDSM parts of the exhibition events, but I gobbled up all the power tripping with obedient sluts. Especially Felicia is a new experience, shameless slut for cocks that hides within her high social standing as a trophy wife of one of the most powerful figures in the story. She loves to be degraded and turned into a cumslut for whoever, but she is also extremely smart and wise women that might even intimidate or downright scare you (even more then our dear villainess Kat, in her own way).

Very good story, characters, animations and routes you can go. very good game overall, top tier game for sure. Really liked it and waiting for the next updates. Only downside for me but its pretty personal i don't find Veronica to be on the next level of the other characters as on the looks but is ok

CH.4 Up 4

I played this game 6 times and it is amazing - it is not the best game on this site (for me, objectively speaking it is as weighted rating of this game is the best at the time of writing this), but it's rating and reviews are warranted.

Every single thing has already been said 450 times - game is written on extremely good level, I'm not a native speeker and first time playing game like this I had to check for a word in a dictionary. This shows how complex the language is but while being complex is also very fun to read, this is not taken from scientific magazine, but from a great book.

Story is great, but it's not amazing, it's just a pretext to introduce girls. Conversations with them and MC's monologues is what makes this game so great. I caught myself that I was so absorbed in dialogue and conversation with one of the girls that I didn't want sex scene to happen and few times I preferred hugging someone or telling someone I like her than having a sex scene - this is this kind of game, where you take pleasure in reading a conversation between intelligent people.

Well, I stated that I preferred conversations than sex scenes, but I have to say that sex scenes are just amazing. Animations and renders may not be on the highest possible level, but this is not important - 95% of other devs on this site should play this game and take notes, because this is how a sex scene should look like - it should be long, lasting 10+ minutes, with two people talking, describing their emotions, asking how they feel, sharing everything what's on their mind, even smallest details. Beautiful. MC's urge to satisfy partner, to make them come is amazing, most of the games skip foreplay entirely and here some of the scenes are just amazingly advanced foreplay - like making your partner orgasm 4 times. MC has stamina to last really long which makes every sex scene amazing. Some people may not like it, but I've never seen so much text during sex scenes and it is amazing for me - I'd rather have MC that thinks about every single thing that he's doing than MC that just puts it in, few moves, few positions, 2 minutes and over. Devs of other games - come here and take notes, seriously.

Killian - truely an amazing friend, has his flaws like everyone, he's not hiding the fact that he's not perfect, but you can count on him anytime, he may want to be perceived as a little goofy character, but he's an very intelligent guy and he makes MC a better person. Easily in my top3 friends of all games I've played. High five, Killian!

I played this game 6 times because I made pure playthroughs for all main girls (by pure I mean rejecting all other girls, focusing on just one, making the chosen one win exhibition and so on) + Kathleen, which is my manwhore playthrough where I fuck everything that stands and keep highest possible score for Kathleen + chose to stay with her after 2nd week.

Ok, I'll try to rate these playthroughs, because I had my favourites, but I want to emphasize - this is purely MY OPINION and I know that everyone has their favourites. I want to emphasize one other thing - I liked all 6 paths/playthroughs, the 6th one is not my "worst" but "6th favourite"



1. Pure Hana - ok, this not a surprise, because Hana is the crowd favourite for a reason, "poster girl" of this game, has a lot of attention even if you're not on her path, but what I love the most about her is obviously her character. Under the rockstar facade (she looks amazing btw) is a sweet, charming, caring intelligent, full of emotions girl. Conversations with her are brilliant, I love how MC shares stuff with her and crushes the wall that she's trying to keep and she eventually shares with him everything (her mom etc). Also, as a moment of writing - she is the only girl that can be officaly MC's girlfriend and I really value this official status. All her scenes are amazing, date with her is just incredible. These few sentences cannot show how truely amazing she is, I'm sure I could have described it better, but keep in mind that for some people Hana is the most amazing LI ever and there is a lot in it, so if you have time just for one playthrough - do pure Hana playthrough, you won't be dissapointed.


2. Pure Felicia - this is really surprising for me. I didn't expect to like her so much, my initial feelings towards her were really low and I played her path because I wanted to give all the girls a chance... and that was an amazing decision. Under a stupid golddigger facade hides the most intelligent girl of this game (for me). I don't know if dev really wanted to give her so much, I wrote few books and I know that it's sometimes hard to write someone and to not let your personal emotions "cover" this person - you can see it sometimes in this game that it's like dev is talking with dev, because a lot of dialogues are too complicated and feel like they couldn't have been said by this person. Ok, I'm babbling. What I meant is that Felicia is extremely intelligent and I'm not sure if dev wanted this. Nevermind, about Felicia. Relationship with her is complicated, because obviously she's married, but you see that her marriage just gives her certain position and status. You can see that she really feels for MC. And date with her (art show and so on) is not only the best date of this game but also one of the best dates I've ever seen in all the games I've played. It was just perfect. The dialogues between them, encouragment from MC to be better person, challenging her to leave her comfort zone, and of course amazing and romantic sex scene.

Her motive to win the exhibition is kind of meh tbh, but I don't really care.


3. Pure Victoria - also a surprise for me. Surprise, because I didn't really like her in most of the playthroughs and let her lose the exhibition on every week, because she seemed obnoxious and arrogant. She really gains a lot if you get to know her better and I know it's a cliche, because everyone does but with Victoria it's most visible. She really gains a lot on her path and that's why she's my 3rd favourite. She's a complicated person with emotional wall even bigger than Hana, MC must try really hard to even be friends with her and I really like this dynamic. I really like the face that she's showing when she sees that he's not just trying to fuck her but cares about her. This tough Amazon is also a sweet and emotional woman, but she's trying to hide it so hard that every hug, kiss and smile from her seems like a win. Also, I don't really care about this but her sex scenes are specific, some of them have really SUB dynamic so if you're into this kind of things - she's even better.


4. Pure Rosalind - I really like her, she's sweet and beautiful, I chose for MC to like her because she reminds him of his mother, but that was a mistake, I don't really want to. Also, I want to help her and be with her despite of her offer and deal and I want the MC to focus on it more. It's there and you can choose to like her "for free" but she looks like she doesn't believe that MC really likes her so it's a lot of work for them if they want to have a normal relationship because right now the dynamic of their relationship seems a little weird. Her life situation is complicated and that's why I choose to help her win in more neutral playthroughs, she seems like a natural person to focus on.


5. Pure Mina - maybe biggest dissapointment for me. I don't really like her path. I know that for some people she's the best girl or really close to Hana, but I just don't see it. At the beginning of the game, she's Killian's girlfriend and even though we all know how this is going to end and how it ends, MC cannot be with her because he values friendship with Killian a lot. I know that Killian would "accept" MC being with Mina, but you can see that he clearly liked her and I just can't do something like this to my friend, so her path for me is really weird and hard to accept. I'd rather have happy friend in Killian than be with Mina, really. Also, for a shy and bubbly girl, dynamic of their relationship after Killian (sex bucket list?) is so weird and it absolutely does not match her character. I know they rationalize this in their conversations, but this whole idea is stupid.


6. Manwhore + Kathleen - I like Kathleen and I played this "path" (reject all others, max afilliation with Kathleen, accept everything from her) out of curiosity, it's interesting to see MC learning things about himself and accepting who he really is. Their coversations are interesting and I will keep/play this path just out of curiousity and also you can see that there will be some content there because if you spend time with her and have high afilliation, you receive a weird suitcase from her with random things and I can't wait to see how this will play out.


I consider everything above as positives if I had to review this game in more standard way.

Now, for negatives, because no game is perfect:

1. I really didn't like few situations, thought that MC is forced to something and would like the option to decline, but I guess this is a plot of this game and you have to accept it, not a free world game where you create everything.
2. For a game that is 4 years old, amount of content if you're going for just one girl is pretty average and if we're going to get 1/2 "dates" per update, this game will take years to develop certain relationships.
3. Thank fuck he finally got rid of this egghead and he looks quite normal but it took him a really long time to change hairstyle and - while I accepted the MC as "me" - he IS specific and his look is not something that you accept fast. I know that not every MC has to be the most handsome dude in the game, but jesus christ, this hair should have been cut a lot earlier.
4. Save system - I know it's nitpicking but it infuriated me and stopped me from saving a lot more. You should be able to save in 2 clicks - RMB + save slot and saved, but no, here you RMB, look for saves in this long list, click on saves, pick a spot and you have to confirm a save. Ehhh. I hate it and it really says a lot of good about this game that one of the worst things about this game is a save system, which is just nothing for some poeple.

Anyway, enough of this. Purely amazing game, one of the best on this site. With few negatives, because no game is perfect, but positives are so overwhelming that this game is just amazing.

Normally I only review completed games but I am going to make an exception for this one as it is one of my two favourite games on this site - both of which are very different. I should probably come and edit this review when the game is completed.

It is a visual novel that scores very highly on a whole number of metrics. The art is very good with a couple of all-time fave character designs (the men look somewhat hit and miss). The writing is excellent, with multiple well-imagined characters, emotional nuance, mystery, drama.

And the game features constant meaningful choices with many different ways scenes can play out, different flavour to relationships, and consequences long after minor decisions were made. The game implicates a choice tag system for remembering what you have done and unlike many other games this extremely rarely results in errors or bugs which is a real testament to quality.

The sexual content is hot, the writing is good. There is some variety, the majority is maledom BDSM. This is good. I would love it if they added some potential for femdom as well but given the story context I can understand why it doesn't fit so well.

I have very few criticisms. Maybe spruce up the MC's face. Possibly neccessary to use a walkthrough (debatable). I just hope that the story is heading towards later chapters and endings as good as the game so far!
