The better question is how many surprise injections will be involved in the Sophia scene :HideThePain:
I think this will depend on the situation at start. If we are neutral to Sophia, it will be a strictly business meeting, if we insult her like Ittesch in his playthrough did, I theorise Edwin will be "volunteered" for SCIENCE! ;) , so some injections might be in the future for this type of Edwin:). If Sophia likes us, I theorise it will be a nice :)meeting with additional options.

That would prove she's a "whore Nazi scientist though" :].

BTW, what's your theory on why is Sophia so devoted to Abel van Doren? She follows him like a dog even though she knows she's the best chemist there is. She allows to be totally humiliated by anyone as long as Abel says so and she openly worships him. Is it blackmail? Is it his bad sense of humour? Is it his dick wallet? Or is she that fucked up in the brain?

I'm willing to put my money that it will actually go the opposite...depending on the playthrough. I.e. picking through the more "evil" options along with the Kat captstone event, I don't see him playing second fiddle to her, but turning the tables. Maybe another anal injection in the future. He is starting to embrace his inner sadist.

Regarding Sophia, Abel dynamic, I think it's simply that he allows and enables her ability to research in unethical type endeavors. Likely has a few screws loose, but Abel recognizes the genius and allows her to play with resources she would never have access to in a more "legitimate" business, hence her loyalty.

"Nuh-uh, you see, that's nonsense. A part of any learning process *slurp* is repetition. We don't always know what we like until we have tried it a couple of times. *slurp* Ugh, that is salty. A bit too much for my liking. I might need to delude it with your soda, if that's okay with you. What kinda flavor was it again?"

Was this shot in the last update or is it a preview of the next one?

Well, going by the info we get about the PC game world and Edwin´s early fanboying, Abel and his corporation are major players in the medical industry worldwide and he is also a known humanitarian. Sophia is an eccentric genius and a young woman, not the best starting conditions into a world where old connections are king if you have them and some "halfgods in white" believe themselves to be the best since sliced bread came out.
Abel recognised Sophia´s genius and took her under his wing, that is certain. He also made her his successor, once he retires which we should remember, will not be in the all too distant future, Sophia will be the boss of this medical empire. Estimated she will be mid-thirties when that happens, very early for such a position today. There is few wonder why she is so loyal to him. Without Abel, Sophia no matter how brilliant she is, would maybe make her breakthrough at mid-thirty, with a long, stony way further towards the top. Jealousy is real in the science community and competition fierce and going by what we learned, Sophia had few things beside her massive genius to throw in the pot. That is not good and could lead swiftly to a dead end joke job.

Van Doren saved Sophia from that fate. It is personal view if you feel Sophia sold out to Abel or she gripped a rare chance tight. Going by the fact that TD strew in dialog and scenes where we can see that Abel is fond of Sophia, we can estimate he views her as the daughter he did not have or maybe she even is his daughter secretly.
Both loath the current PC leadership, but play nice so far, still they have own plans for the club, which involves kicking out the leaders.

In the Club, Abel and Sophia play roles to make the others believe they are similarly depraved fellows as several members are, that is sure. Why they do this, I am not certain, because we lack sufficient evidence and hints. Personally, after Sophia and Chuck´s last talk I theorise the two doctors are on a personal crusade. They know very much about Chuck´s victims he mentally broke or even murdered, something he logically never advertised to the public and if we take Chuck´s words as the truth, they were average people with no connections. Why would Abel and Sophia know about them in the first place, esp. if they were in the club mainly to test stuff?
It could be that one of the victims was someone they knew.

I always got the impression Sophia was addicted to the sex crack Abel has. She is “loyal” to Abel because, one, Abel is the only one that currently has the supply of her sex heroine. Two, she is too busy running algebraic numbers for her short term gain leaving no mind power for any long term thinking. She’s just a codependent groupie. All junkies look into the mirror and think they are the worlds best stable genius until it’s too late.:WeSmart:

Its a Greek tragedy that thee “genius” would think Abel has sincere affection for the guinea pig that doesn’t realize is the guinea pig.

I think that much as the MC spends a lot of time introspecting on just what sort of person he is, Sophia has contemplated just how *useful* a chemist she is. She knows she's insanely skilled in the technical sense, but what has that achieved in a *tangible* sense? I think she considers herself little more than a supremely sophisticated robot on an assembly line: she does the work with impeccable precision, but she can only make what other, greater people have determined needs to be made. Rightly or wrongly, she seems to regard Dr. van Doren as one of those greater people who can figure out what ought to be made.

Why might she feel this way? Some if it probably just the price one pays for being so damn gifted; it's hard to feel like you've accomplished something when you never had to break a sweat to achieve it. But I also think it ties into the MC's observation that Sophia sees herself (or more precisely her desires) as effect rather than cause. Sophia seems to see a lot of human nature - her own consciousness included - as a side effect of biochemistry, and thus nothing remarkable. She has a capable brain and is stimulated by science, so her being an elite chemist is a given. In Abel, however, she sees either someone whose insight into chemistry goes beyond mere intellectual horsepower, or someone who has successfully suborned his own instincts to a more objective purpose. That makes him worthy of her devotion.

And for what it's worth, I'm not sure Sophia sees Abel's requests as particularly humiliating. Hormones are just biochemistry, after all.

If that were the case she wouldn't be "the best chemist", not even close. Almost anyone can learn to integrate (which in chemistry allows for example to find the way the concentrations change) but that would make her an engineer at best and not a scientist. I doubt that Sophia would use the term "the best" if she was just a robot.

I would agree with you if Abel's requests were more along the line: "sleep with Edwin/Ian who you find attractive" and not "be gangbanged by wrinkly old men while laying on the table with a bunch of food on top". Abel treats her like his toy and she wastes her brilliant mind on things like being a security detail, a potential support for Edwin, a bartender/waitress, a chess player/entertainer and even a whore for a man that disgusts her (i.e. Chuck, although he declined Abel's offer).

I'm guessing her behaviour is just porn logic at its best because I can't find true logic in her behaviour.

Pardon, you overlook some info we gain during play about the characters and the game world. That Sophia is a great genius is info we get from several sides, not only her, so this is a fact of the story. It is also a fact that she will be his successor in a few year time. Sje is also the inventor of this super viagra.

I think it is the same porn logic that makes Felicia join the competition. This is on the the most well-written games on this site but let's not forget it is a porn game.
Felicia joining has a definite porn logic vibe. Current Felicia, though, is arguably the best choice for winning the competition.

(Obvious spoilers ahead, for anyone not caught up.)

Please note that the below is not about personal preference – mine or other's – but about which result would cause the most good / least harm.

When starting out, it is fairly easy to sort the three:
– Rose is caught up with some nasty people who may harm both her and her daughter. Of the three, she is the one who will be in the most trouble if she does not win.
– Veronica must win to hang on to her business (for a while longer). Not winning therefore has some serious negative consequences, but not as dire as Rose's.
– Felicia just wants to join the club for some reason. If she does not win, she can just go back to her trophy wife life. No big deal.

The current situation, however, has flipped that list on its head.

– The club has taken over Rose's debt, meaning that the consequences of not winning have basically been reduced to being a House Girl for a while. While far from ideal, she has gone through worse already, both on and off stage.
– Edwin has been digging into the root causes of Veronica's failing business, and is looking for ways to fix them. The competition is almost irrelevant for her at this point: Winning without also solving the Samson situation just postpones the inevitable, and if Edwin can solve things, she does not need to win.
– And Felicia? If she wins, she plans to leverage the win to help other people. There are of course no guarantees she will succeed, but there is at least the potential of improving the lives of a great number of people. And with her husband now in the club, for the first time she has something to lose.

So, from a perspective of the greatest good to the greatest number of people and the least harm to the least number of people, picking Felicia as winner is clearly the best choice, as things stand.

(There may be variations to the above based on player choices.)

What would be the worst choice then?
