scorpio99-bj Can You share more info, what fixed it, moving to VLC alone (so files have issue with up-to-date MPC-HC but play fine in VLC - if so to me sounds like video driver issues with MPC HW decoder) ?

It was human error on my part, I kept ignoring the MPC-HC update pop-ups. They played fine with VLC but never liked that player because it doesn't go full screen completely. Fresh install on MPC-HC fixed the issue.
