you guys are way too salty about the game being shorter than PL1. calm down
Gotta be real, I have enjoyed the direction of the story, I do feel like the sex stuff is a lot more linear than in PL1, which is a shame.
Stuff like the bedroom scenes with Raven and Mi-sun where you can choose what to do with them are sorely missing, and that is a shame.

Being honest I bought in this time because I thought we'd finally get to take the asses of Rachel and Grace, yet their scenes are still completely linear with no such option.
Obviously Ryoko has her scene, which is pretty good, but each main girl present in the story should really have at least one bedroom scene which is more player directed, even if it's just a one and done for each.

I'll 100% buy PL3 as well if that makes the cut for PL2

As I've said repeatedly, it's a 2 year game, not a 3 year game. You may think that's "lack of passion" or you may just read any of the 15 times I've said "PL1 was too long, it locked us into design decisions that were in hindsight incorrect, and we wanted a chance to course correct". PL2 was in development from May 2023 to May 2025, with a larger team; while there are fewer sex scenes there are a lot more comics (almost every sex scene now gets a lead in comic to set the mood) and more minigames.

Now, if you don't *like* that, I'm sure you'll find some other devs on this site that develops these games faster and with more content.

And yeah. Paradise Lust 3 will likely also be a 2 year project; it's a more manageable size, and it lets us take lessons and evolve from that. If that offends your sensibilities, too bad. We'll continue to make the games we want to make; you're free to go create the games that you are so passionate about.
1 year less and less than 2/3rds the content? That doesn't match up and If anything there should be more now if the team has grown. Nobody gives a shit about minigames as much as they do sex scenes. People didn't play Paradise Lust 1 for hours to fish or cut bamboo or do the match 2 flower picking. My criticisms are perfectly valid because your line of reasoning that it's about quality not quantity is a cope considering your team is larger now and the quality of scenes is on par with the first game. Having played through half of it now since I bought it, yes, I agree with the other dude in saying it feels rushed. Not just the less content, the story and everything else too. By focusing on how long your previous game was, you actively rushed this game and are upset you are being criticized about it. Like the dude above me just said also, choosing what to do in bedroom scenes also enhanced the replayability of Paradise Lust 1. You may think the direction you're heading in is better and better for your players, but it's dumbed down, has impeded player choice and agency, and just given everyone less in the guise of more. I honestly regret my purchase seeing your response to perfectly valid criticism, also.

Looking at the recent reviews, both here and on Steam - I have a few concerns before I consider pulling the trigger.
On Steam the per-release reviews were "Very Positive" but post-release they are now "Mixed" (with many of the very most recent reviews being mostly negative)??
Some are saying the content was cut bare, with no re-playable bedtime sex scenes, and with way less paintings etc.?

I bought the first game and loved it, so I am confused?
The extra few dollars to the price doesn't matter to me that much, but I just don't feel comfortable about paying more for less?

I haven't played any version of this game here on F95, as I was waiting to buy it on Steam or Itch.

Anyone here buy the full version yet?
If so - what are your thoughts, as it compares to the first game?

Thanks

I am going to clear some things up as best I can. the first game was longer due to a lot of oversights and them trying to find a good balance going forward. as a result, they decided to make PL2 shorter compared to it and most people are now upset about there being less scenes compared to PL1. some of these reviews could also just be trolls trying to get a rise out of fans or lower the score altogether. finally yes, there are a few new characters with less scenes compared to the original cast of girls but don't let that become a problem. there is going to be a PL3 so overall I think buying/getting this game is worth it

I think some people here are overreacting a bit. Yes, PL2 is shorter than PL1, but in my opinion, it’s better quality in many areas. However, compare this to other creators: in two years, you got a COMPLETE adult game. Maybe a short one (I don’t think it’s short - it’s PL1 that’s massive, and PL2 just suffers by comparison), but still a finished product from A to Z. How many other adult games developers actually deliver something like that? There are plenty who spend a year making content that adds only an hour of gameplay, with writing quality at a basic school level, and no real hope of ever finishing the game. And on top of that, tons of Patreons and ongoing interest, which for me is one of the most puzzling things.

Yes, PL2 has its issues. The developer sees this and wants to fix it with PL3. Other developers often couldn’t care less about feedback.

More money for less work and passion is what is ruining the gaming industry.
What’s really killing the industry is pouring money and hype into games that get one 1-hour content update every 9 months - and still have zero chance of ever being finished.

They are developing multiple games now... .

Beat it the game. Wanted to write a review for it but still trying to figure out how to put it into words without being a bland 2 sentence rundown or blabbing about personal bias. But for now, in short, loved the game. Wish it was longer, but ultimately it was probably about the same length as PL1, but with less repetition grind, due to the way money-making and resource management works passively in PL2 as opposed to spending an entire week chopping down bamboo to show Rick the Dick how it's done, or fishing to get [chips] from Karen every day.

the reason PL1 was so long was because the devs were still trying to find their footing and a result, it came out longer than they had wanted originally

I mean honestly when comparing the two, I feel they have almost the same length, but again, the first one had a lot of grindy moments that slowed you down cuz you picked the wrong day to go hunting for bananas.

Does that mean the game will be Episodic rather than contained in one narrative? For example like Huniepop, The game sequel take place in the same world and starring some recurring character, they also introduce new one that help in the conflict while giving them proper closure

again with the first game, they were trying to find their footing and a result, things got out of hand in terms of how many scenes there were, the amount of wallpapers, the amount of collecting and grinding resources. they are trying to cut down on those with this game and with PL3

Nothing the player sees. Obviously a few of the girls are openly bisexual, but there's not really much point in doing scenes without MC. There will be some lesbian threesome stuff planned for later, through.
Wait, lesbian threesome? Could you elaborate a little, like how long would the scene be, or who will be involved?

I would bet it's Rachel and Grace with MC since we've seen Rachel going down on Grace during that 1 call before they came back to the island. another safe bet would be Ryoko and Emi considering how close they are. we've also seen Cath, Gabby, and MC so that happened. maybe Andrea and Jenny with MC

The dev once said that as long as there's demand, the Paradise Lust series will continue, with each game featuring its own mini-story. A major mistake was removing the main story from PL2 - a response to criticism of PL1 by players who didn’t want to pursue all the girls. Unfortunately, this led to a serious design flaw: the complete removal of the main narrative. The dev's see that, and it will be addressed in the next installment. PL3 will focus on another beauty pageant contest, and it's great to see the series returning to its roots. I think the idea of having sex with women from different parts of the world was the best part of PL1.

Personally, I think Droid was too influenced by some of the criticism about PL1. The 'catch them all' idea is part of Flexible Games’ DNA. They are good at it, and it’s time to accept that. Trying to change it led indirectly to poor ratings. I think it’s time to accept that Flexible Media games are for completionists who like harem-style content, and that’s it. If someone wants route-based games where you pursue just one girl - there are many other games like that, maybe even 95% of them. Maybe very controversial characters should be optional (like Karen), but that’s enough. They’re wasting resources on non-mandatory sex scenes in SL right now.

Considering all that, the low ratings on Steam really annoy me. If there were a contest for the most underrated adult game developer, Flexible Media would be sitting alone on a golden throne. A complete game (even if people think it's just average - which I don’t agree with) delivered in two years. And by the end of the year, SL will leave Early Access, giving us their third finished game. And what do they get? A laughable number of Patreons, barely any reviews on Steam, barely any on F95, and just a handful of posts here on the forum. I honestly have no idea why. The game is beautifully drawn, the writing is great - the girls aren’t just sex dolls - and there’s a new release every month.

If FM got as much money as other devs, their games would crush everything else - because it’s clear that Droid has actual management skills and invests the money he gets back into development. But no. It’s better to throw money, attention, and 5-star reviews at a dev who’s been developing an update for three years (everyone knows which game I’m talking about)

Thanks for all the help and feedback everyone. :D
I decided to buy the "Flexible Media Games BUNDLE"...
Yes I am getting Paradise Lust 1 a second time lol (bought it on Itch initially) - but I'll get Sinners Landing (that I know nothing about really) - when it is completed also.

Droid has earned my trust with his "Love of Magic: The Complete Trilogy" bundle that I also bought, and really enjoyed.
The effort that was put into the NG+ features after the game was released - goes far to cement his good reputation in my books.

I have not played this game yet, as it is downloading as I speak - but I think your quote says it best....
I think it’s time to accept that Flexible Media games are for completionists who like harem-style content, and that’s it.
- That is what I loved the first game for, and why I bought this bundle - even if this game is a miss (personally I do not know myself yet - I just bought it) - but if mistakes can be corrected in the third game I'm willing to put my trust in them (if only on Droid's well earned reputation alone).

Best wishes....

In all honesty, if I were to also review the game here? I say cheers to the development team, first and foremost. But first, a question if the higher authority cares to answer it: How often is the game going to be updated here? I don't ask for specific dates, more of an estimate of either every few weeks to every x number of months or so.

Now onto the important bit. While it is true the game had less in terms of sexy scenes, it had more story. At least from what I played,PL2 is more about developing the island now and dealing with the challenges that have surfaced. Our main character is getting himself settled, and although a short game, I feel like it captured that very well.

My only issue? My ONE TRUE ISSUE?!

I was really hoping for a full-harem orgy. Maybe not in this game, but maybe in the next. If you ask me, such a scene is the perfect way to end a harem game.
