Well, in 0.157 Nyx finally gave me her bedroom key, although still cannot have quality time with her. Now in EA version, her quest stops after romancing and kissing her.

There were reports of some kind of bug around that if I recall, as of 0.160, it shouldn't be the case.
I'm on 0.160. 'Check on Nyx' still can't be finished. Don't tell me it have to start all over again.

I haven't been made aware of that in my playthrough, but the way White and Black speak to and about each other suggests not.

I don't see why not, you put things in order and I responded to that order exactly as written. The only ambiguity would be whether or not you could infer from how black and white communicated from each other and in doing so infer my meaning. But if you're not paying attention to the game's dialogue, that's not a me problem that's a you problem.
But it actually doesn't matter which you assume is correct because there is currently no in game dialogue that suggests either occurs. The only reason you'd have to conclude that they'd turn on each other for whatever reason is if it comes down to survival of one or the other, which isn't presently indicated, and the main reason you'd have to believe they'll stay bros is that's where they currently are, but that doesn't change the probability of future twists.

am I missing something with the difficulty? I'm at the part in the beginning where you fight the big hammer troll guys, they're level 1 and my party is level 2 but they're just stomping me. Each doing half my health in one hit. I didn't get a chance to level up more during the story I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

Use potions, make sure you've assigned your level up points, and use your skills logically.

You should bring back combat as a way to bring down infection. It really helps in the beginning when we don't have many romantic opportunities and when we're out on the road.
