So much potential, ruined by poor writing (probably poor planning and/or rewrites) and unbalanced elements. Don't get me wrong, there is still fun to be had with the game, but as it is now, it is just a little too messy and incomplete to consider it play worthy beyond the prologue.
The main problem to me, is that many characters behave in such a way that you'd expect your character reacting (talk about it, confront them, demand explanations, etc.), yet the character does nothing (or that content is not yet in the game, maybe?). And even in the cases when he does something (talk), there is no resolution or a lasting consequence.
A few baffling story points:
-your character makes a long trip with certain character, a character that at least has a few things to explain, yet nothing happens during the trip. You have a follow up event (spoiled in part by the UI upgrade system) explaining a few things (that you sort of knew already thanks to the UI), but only during a random rest event later, a major concern is brought up? With no consequences.
-A major character disagrees with your actions/choice, you see a small scene about it, then it all goes back to business as usual, and you are railroaded to the next story beat (even if you explicitly are told of something that provides an easy situation to continue the discussion, but I suppose being the MC trumps any kind of disagreement)
-You catch a character behaving 'oddly', you get a quest to investigate, then you find out... but no real resolution or follow up happen, just poof, here is some magic, then back to normal for the character
-Certain kind of event happens, you get a dialogue option, and that's it. It all reverts back as if nothing ever happened, the consequence just...not reflected anywhere.
I know this may be an alpha/beta/WIP situation, but if you start a new chapter/episode/stage/act, you'd expect the old one to be feature and content complete. It seems there are lots of missing content (other than the clearly marked WIP quest and limited interaction restricted to one character) and balancing to do left to do, yet the devs begin a new act.
Maybe when this game gets to version 0.5 or something like that it would be worth to recheck.
A little tip to the devs, never make a character too unlikable, you risk turning them unredeemable.
