you dont need them but there are minor variations to things with the various colors. sizes of parts, behavior of npcs i think? red was aggressive and the other blue one made either your tits or ass way bigger than the cyan werms did iirc.Gaming question: I reed the wiki and I'm still confuse / wondering what is the use of color werm and all ?
Do we need them orther than the cyan versions ?
while that definitely can be (and very likely is ) the case for development decisions like this, the core issue still remains that even before the majority of bugs in the first 2 chapters were sorted out chapters 3-5 were put in the game is an issue. i remember there were a few times where there was way more content in the game and then an update came and fucked everything over. I haven't actually redownloaded this in like a couple years at this point because the changelog has such minor tweaks that i very much doubt the game is even as far as some early builds got even all this time later.I think I saw somewhere earlier in this thread that the reason for the change is that technical debt and cruft have gotten so bad that it's easier to throw it out and start over.
Also be nice to see the capitalization fixed so the game doesn't double up on imagesbasically, dev needs to focus their efforts on the core systems and like a chapter at a time instead of making half baked chapters all the way through their development. chapter 5 should never have come out when chapter 2 was still missing like half of its possible interactions
The plan is to scrap everything and start over, but this time with AI art.Game seems to have stagnated for a while for new content (mainly just bug fixes that I can see). Is there any stated planned progress for the game anywhere? (i.e. planned/future content) The premise is good but just seems to be not going anywhere for a long time.
It's been a while, but I think this may be the fourth or fifth time now if that's the case. The plan is to scrap everything and start over, but this time with AI art.
I'm not joking.
that would imo completely destroy the game for me. the art of the characters was like the one thing that actually had me interested in dealing with this half finished mess. i dont want to see the thousandth hands melding into the partner and who's dick is it art.The plan is to scrap everything and start over, but this time with AI art.

Yeah I remember when I first played a couple of years back and loved the whole futa/impreg corruption concept it was going with, especially with the selfcest play it had going on in chapter 1, which left me with high hopes for more of that in later chapters, but as you said, chapter 2 felt way messier than the first chapter to the point were it made me wonder why there was even a 3rd chapter available to play, let alone a 4th and a 5th chapter.while that definitely can be (and very likely is ) the case for development decisions like this, the core issue still remains that even before the majority of bugs in the first 2 chapters were sorted out chapters 3-5 were put in the game is an issue. i remember there were a few times where there was way more content in the game and then an update came and fucked everything over. Yeah...that's definitely a flag raiser for me too honestly. Like them replacing the art with your generic AI gen'd art 'style' that you see pretty much everywhere is one thing, but using AI to copy ModeSeven's artstyle for the sake of saving some cash is a pretty dick move honestly. Whether the artist is ok with this or not, thats the type of shit thats gonna make other artists steer clear of you if they thats what your gonna potentially doing with their PAID-FOR artwork when you part waysI find it very funny that they're incredibly defensive about using AI, saying that in this exact situation it's perfectly fine to use it since it's not "replacing or displacing artists". But they're feeding the original art to the program. So... they're feeding ModeSeven's art without their consent to an AI to replicate their art so they don't have to pay for an artist...?

The AI artwork is a step down, but lets be clear that, at least according to them, they aren't using it for money issues. Mode Seven just isn't taking long term commissions anymore so they can't pay them even if they wanted to. They've also tried at least 5 other artists over the years to replicate or at least integrate with MS's style and they've all been terrible. I remember those from watching the updates myself.Yeah...that's definitely a flag raiser for me too honestly. Maybe theres a side to this im not seeing, but yeah, it just doesn't seem right to me in my eyes.
They can say all they want about it, they're training the AI on the original art, which is ModeSeven's art. You can even tell with the first generations that it's being fed their art and I'm willing to bet that ModeSeven wasn't asked prior to that, which is scummy af.The AI artwork is a step down, but lets be clear that, at least according to them, they aren't using it for money issues. Personally I wish they'd just get an update out without art instead, but they are probably right that this kind of game is doomed if you don't get the visual crowd pleased.
You clearly do not understand how art works. They can say all they want about it, they're training the AI on the original art, which is ModeSeven's art. He's just training a small adaptation (LORA) on top of a model that was already trained on tens of thousands of artists. So the moral issue is still there, for those who are into that.If I commissioned the Mona Lisa, then the artist has zero say in what I do with the Mona Lisa, including using it as a basis for more art. That is the person who commissioned the art, owning the rights.
