Ren'Py - Park after Dark [v0.24b] [SID Gaming]

I love this game. Been following it since 0.2 and it has not disappointed. One of the few games I really hope continues on the path they are on. The most recent Belle update was awesome and there should be another one coming soon with more content for her. I cant wait to see who the 4th girl is and what new features Sid Gaming will bring with v 0.8. Also this developer is very responsive and will answer questions on Patreon Discord and this forum.

This game is easily one of my favorites and one of the best ones around. The gameplay, writing and art style are very well done, gameplay is also smooth. I really appreciate how the body of the girls are all different. Great job. Really looking forward to the future of this

This is only a few updates into development and already has more content than some of the more popular titles on this site.

The art work really is fantastic, my only complaint is the positioning of the images, occasionally it's obscured by the text box.

The writing is enjoyable, no syntax or spelling error which make it easy to read and the events with the princesses are great.

If you were left disappointed by Milftoon Drama this game will scratch the itch and not give you a brain anuerism with it's writing and UI.

good game with lots of potentials. graphics are already great.

thepotential downside of this is the posibility the art doesn't get some much needed effects (backkround light etc) to make it moresnapier and the posibility of not adding more girls. otherwise. the game is good.

[v0.05 Public]

If you're on the fence because it's too early and you want to wait for more spice, you could probably start now without any problems. The two cover characters are pretty well-developed in their scenes.

The Good:
+ Lots of content per update.
+ Appealing art.
+ Writing is focused and mostly down-to-earth (so far).
+ Dialogue/characters are charming. The ones that need detail have it, the ones that don't do not.

The Meh:
~ Is a copyright claim goldmine, will be interesting to see if anything happens as the game develops.
~ Characters and their interactions are limited to you; you are the center of this world.
~ Grind is integrated pretty painlessly, but there is quite a bit of it.
~ Yensid can be annoying, but most of his stuff is optional. Also an opinion.
~ Worldbuilding is non-existent. YMMV.

The Bad:
- No animation.
- Magic is underutilized; it makes shit, that's it. Not what I was hoping for with the summary talking about 'rewriting reality'.
- Art is limited and focused. Don't expect environments, background characters, etc..

The Verdict:
If you're here for the art, you'll be satisfied. If you're here for a fappable story, you'll be satisfied. If you're here for intricate and detailed narrative that doesn't infringe on the other two, you'll be satisfied as of this version. The writing so far leads me to believe that this will be a porn game first and foremost, so it should be safe from falling victim to a grandiose narrative too big for its britches. Give it a try.

I am legitimately surprised how much decent content and entertaining writing is in this. Given how common trainer games are these days it's rare to find something even close to Witch Trainer or WT Silver, but honestly, this comes as close to the mark as you can get in terms of wit and art. Definitely a project to support!

Hmm, very good game i have to say, with a big potential in the future, when more princesses gonna be add.
Homehow the onliest thing i disliked is, that the game is not very much in corupting gameplay, otherway said the princesses are the lewd but not the protagonist I wish that's gonna be changed in the next characters

Art an UI are top notch but the game design and writing are wooden and uninspiring.

Its basically a straight forward VN filled out with repetitive busy work to make it into a game

Every day is basically the same loop with a different very vanilla scene at the end. Draw, advance time, draw, visit princess, advance to next day.

Update for version 0.05. Although the game is still in early stages, the developer has added good amounts of content with each update, and has added the first animations which several people had requested. The game still has tons of room to grow, but the dev is showing promising traits that make me think that this game could fulfill its potential with time. The developer seems to add a new character every two updates, with the update in between further developing the newest character. Not sure whether the trend will continue forever, but it has been very effective so far.

Review for version 0.03. The game is still early on and only has the two princesses at the moment, but there is a lot of content already for those two. The art style is dead on, and the writing is very good and even has some good humor (mostly in the repeatable lines with SID). As mentioned in other reviews, there is some grind, but it is not nearly as bad as many other games. The notifications for topics that are new and/or advance the story are extremely helpful, I wish that it mentioned them in the intro. Generally the only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is the lack of animations, which given the game is new and the wealth of content that is being included, I just hope will change in the future. The park map already has tons of room for further addition of princesses, and given the multitude of choices for additions, I really hope the dev fills out this concept since it shows immense promise already.

This review is for v0.03. I really like this game, despite its current flaws. I like the attention to the older/classic princesses, and the art style is both spot-on and fantastic. The game is a bit grindy, that's true, and at a certain point money seems to not matter so much, but the base gameplay is solid. Updates don't come as often as I'd like, but there's a decent amount of content when it does update.
TL;DR I'm giving it 4 stars because it's pretty good right now, with fixable flaws and a lot of potential.

An excellent early start. The art is great and what story content is available is well paced and nicely done. However its early so there's not a lot of content yet.

The attraction upgrade mechanic is slow and feels grindy, but the dev has said this is intended to be parallel to the story content, so once there is more story content, this should no longer be a problem.

The drawing skill up minigame is fun the first few times, but gets old. I ended up cheating my skill to max after it got boring. But the drawing skill level doesn't seem to block progression, so I'm not too concerned about it.

Definitely looking forward to more content in future updates
