what do I do now, it says get an engine but how
You can either buy a broken one from the quartermaster in the lower right (and have to repair it at a computer at one of the safehouses), or defeat the boss if you've reached A class rank (from the keycard in the captain's office in the command section, you'll need hacking to get it)

when does the baby octopus even spawn? Takes forever to pass through each day
after a specific infection percentage (~75%) baby octopus will spawn from vents during the 3am waves or when a crab calls for backup. I believe either getting sexed while downed by one (but not while marked for death, otherwise its just game over screen) or getting sexed while stunned will both cause it to parasitize you. If you go long enough, you start puking and your character makes a comment about needing to get rid of it. A little while after that, they puke and collapse then get back up and are now possessed at which point your objective changes to bring survivors to the hatchery (down them and drag them to the vents with green tentacles.)

Do note that the game will bug out and remove the status somewhat (doesn't remove skills or status menu stuff, but gives you original objective and you can't down or drag survivors anymore) if you die or otherwise reload a save. I found you can fix this, but it requires you to do the whole infection thing over again with a new baby octopus, which does admittedly also reset objective progress, so until that's patched make sure you don't die while infected otherwise you need to fully start over. Also there is no ending implemented yet for actually finishing the objective I found, so don't hype yourself up excited for what happens when you get all 9 survivors;The counter will just switch to 0 and nothing else will happen (for now, I imagine that will be expanded if not in the next update then hopefully soon after)

For me personally, yes. No save file unfortunately, just give them some time, they'll make it work and I have a hunch that the next patch will come very soon.

good god this is a worse buggy mess than the older version I have. Can't do anything without freezing up and EVERYTHING needs repair, yet you can't repair it???

On the other hand, start a repair, and then spazz the keys on keyboard and it seems to force cancel and you get free resources.

Edit: I deleted ALL game files (in Local or Locallow I already forget) and started a new game and it's actually playing, at least.

Yeah you kinda need to clear all the save data between new versions. Although we should be close to a new version soon.

It actually plays very well for the most part. Better than I remember the old version I had did. 1.8? I forget.
Only had my character freeze up a few times, one menu got stuck on screen. Reboot fixed both issues.

Just give up. I tried to finish the game but each time something broke. Stuff didn't spawn, the objectives told me to do something else and it was over all a buggy mess. I think even one of the parts you need to repair the engine just doesn't spawn. Wait for another few updates and hope they fix the bugs the game has now while creating as little new bugs as possible.

Have'nt played this game since version 1.7
Trying this again in 2.1.8 gives me more question then ever

jellyfish broke my run
it locks the mc in a perpetual looping animation

the flamethrower bug is still there
everytime I reload my save, the ammo upgrade just go poof back to 4 again

scrap, med, food and xp can be changed with basic CT knowledge
but health, I cant really figure it out for the life of me

Mantis boss is still immune, are we really supposed to lose in the fight?
Does the hive give any reward for killing it?

The missing sister? is that the women floating in the tube at the med bay section?
briefcase gotten from giving mercy to hazel's quest target. How do I use that?

The mantis isn't really immune. You have to make the last hit a melee attack. The missing sister is the one in the tube, but the quest involving her is not implemented yet.

Contamination Level:
Starting level reduced to 25%.
Daily increase rate reduced to 8%.

Spawn probability for beds and cabinets has significantly increased, while the probability for vents has significantly decreased.

Enemy Buffs:
Improved the combat capabilities of Worms, Crabs, and Manflies.
Crabs will now unleash attacks much faster when hit by a melee attack.

Experience System:
Experience requirements now vary based on the survivor's skills.
Experience types are categorized (e.g., Cooking / Combat / Science / Engineering).

Cultist Progression:
Cultists can no longer gain experience through traditional methods.
