Every time I leave the Shack after picking up the supply bag it triggers an event with Victoria to kill the monkeys who I haven't met yet so I can't defeat them, locking me in that section with no way to escape. Is there a way for me to fix this or is it a bug.

It's a bug, go to itch.io page and download, its same version as here, I already fixed it. if you go to my discord general there is a save from that point, so you don't waste time redoing it. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am updating the links here meantime.

Old saves wont work, since I changed the logic a bit. Use Continue, Save slot 1 to play the new update. But redownload the game, since I just fixed a bug, preventing the story progression.

Have I encountered a bug or am I just stupid?
I'm at the bit with the monkeys, I get to the top of the tree house and get the loot. When I come out I get some dialogue from Victoria (but I haven't met her yet... she's not visible and she doesn't appear either). I instantly get spotted by the monkey which is in the same spot as me. All I can do at this point is run around, pickup the wood and wait for the monkeys to kill me (I cant leave the area, it tells me I need to kill the monkeys first).
I looked up a walkthrough and it looks like Victoria is meant to appear and you help her escape.

Read above your comment. I fixed it. Redownload the game. There is a save on my discord to continue from that point.

Yeah, but even so, the task is not updating... I'd expect the task to remove once you fix the ladder but it doesnt...
So I suggest you pay attention too.. lol

LustyPix Hmmm... interesting new Update, though the monkey battle seems to be buged.
Not to the degree of locking you up or being gamebreaking... but annoying.
The monkeys can catch MC even if he is outside the red circel of their perception area makeing aproaching them harder, the board bridge of the 1st floor acts like an obstacle that stops any arrow from hitting a target behind it and on the ground Level there are also blocking Events that make no sense.
And sometimes a monkey going straight towards MC just walks through a straight fired arrow.
Also I would really appreciate if you also maped "x" as menu as it's the RPGM Standard going for "Esc" is really not inuitive

I agree. This is rpg maker tho, its hard if not impossible to achieve specific things due to engine limitations. Plugins can't do everything. Even the option for enemies to find the path to the player doesn't work properly, as it is. This engine was not intended for such things, but I hate the turn based rpg maker combat. If the game was made in unity it would be a different story. I will look more into it. As for X button near menu its the same story. Just press right click to close the menu. Cheers!
