Regardeing the menu it's more about opening it and call me old fashioned, but I hate playing RPGM games with a mouse... I can accept useing the mouse interact with buttons as still Events though I am more of a hotkey gamer.
And in regards to limitation of the engine in active combat maybe take a look at games of Siren's Domain or Nergals "A Zombies Live".
Not to dis you but these games managed to include this kind of combat and make it work far less flawed.

Also just noticed at the end of the current content the girls call MC by default name again instead of given name

Don't run to the monkey near the exit, after you save Victoria. Instead make your way with her up, and use the zipline to escape. It will be patched in the next build. Sorry for the inconvenience. Message me on discord and I will share the saves before the monkey camp.

when adding previous 4.0 save files to 5.1 it wont launch game and said missing certain file image

update... added the missing image and now i cant go down the ladder and i have the objective to fix the ladder so i am currently stumped

You need to use the save which comes with the new build, see BEFORE YOU PLAY section

I had no problem with playing the game useing the previous saves... might be that your files got corrupted dureing DL.
try a different hoster maybe

The sex scenes are based on patreon votes on fetish poll, that said there will be scenes with feet involved. Cheers!

This! Thank you. If the old save could be imported, I would have mentioned that. Because if I fix a bug or make a change in the content before your save file, that save wont have the new data stored inside, and the game won't function as intended.
