Oh that's such an innocent statement despite the state of world it almost made me cry.
No, doesn't mean I'm getting one. Gay= Homosexual. It's based on sex, not gender. Just like a heterosexual male won't have sex with a trans woman, but will have sex with a trans man (also some caveats to both scenarios I'm sure, but im not going down that rabbithole and mental gymnastics). People delude a word and continue to falsely use it that people forget it's actual meaning for whatever reason.
