As a developer myself with plans to release pixel-art NSFW games through f95zone for free with hopes of support through patreon, I'm curious, what % of people on f95zone actually support NSFW game developers through patreon? Is the fear of the April Fools joke merge because people don't want to ever support developers through patreon, or is it that they simply want the option of having everything free on f95zone, etc?
There are over 7 million registered accounts on F95. There are, at most, 1/10th that number of paid subscribers to adult game creators on Patreon.
Even in the highly improbable event that all adult game Patreon subscribers also have registered accounts on F95, that means at least 90% of all F95 accounts do not contribute to adult game creators. If only half of the paid subscribers have F95 accounts, then that's at least 95% who don't subscribe.
And it's probably closer to between 1 in 4 and 1 in 10... which would mean 97%-99% of F95 accounts do not subscribe to adult game creators on Patreon.
People want things free. That's why the vast majority come here - to not compensate anyone for any adult game they play. There is a minority which do support developers with subscriptions. Also, for a new developer, F95 is one avenue of marketing that they should consider to build brand and product awareness (but isn't the only avenue). But with over 17,000 games listed on this site, it's getting harder for any single developer to break through the noise.
