Oh definetly, that's why I personally believe that Patreon only really cares about maintaining the "Appearance" of having ban on certain kinds of porn.

This may be the policy of Patreon, but some members of their Trust and Safety team are very proactive.
I have no personal experience with this, but I read from other developers that a member of the Trust and Safety team mentioned what tags a certain game has on F95zone, although the developer does not mention f95zone on his Patreon page.

It probably happened after someone reported the game, but sniffing on f95zone to investigate the report is definitely much more than what Patreon needs to avoid problems with PayPal.
Probably some of Patren's censors feel that they are doing a useful job and they are trying to find every opportunity where they can intervene.

Well, you can't rule out the possibility that some members of their T&S team honestly feel that NSFW games should not exist and are overzealous.
If random members here go to lengths to report/boot someone off Patreon, imagine someone also having the official backing by being their employee.

Patreon would get more sympathy if they said something like "We are under pressure from payment processor to remove questionable content (incest, zoophilia, rape, etc.), so please keep your Patreon page clean of this sort of content." instead of enforcing their vague rules randomly. Then they could also work with devs, explaining them to host the content on their personal website, instead of banning them. As a result of their current policies, they appear as very hostile towards NSFW devs, who will not hesitate to leave them should an alternative emerge.

I don't think they would get much favor from PayPal if they start kick the blame upwards though. That would almost make it sound like "we would approve of these things, but because of the overlords we can't"

Yeah but if it's not obvious a game on the site here is not uploaded and promoted by the creator itself, and if a patch is needed for certain tags to be valid. Then it would be unreasonable of Patreon to start hang it on the creator. Then it become outside his/her control.

Being reasonable is not part of Patreon's policy.

Patreon is not pressured by credit card companies.

Patreon, PayPal and Mastercard simply operate in a country where people frequently send salty emails and threaten to blow up situations to shut things down and/or for drama. And companies frequently bow down to these people because muh image and that's just how things work there.
