I don't think Dark Cookie will be taken off Patreon, you get almost no knowledge of what the game is - everything is now behind a paywall and has been cleaned up. Now his Patreon page is just a front, really. Unless they start taking shots at the Patreon-only content. But for now he's already popular and will be safe if they're only going for a clean public page and none of the paid stuff. I'm repeating myself, aren't I. I'm tired.

As much as any censorship sucks Patreon is a private service in the US which stated in it's guidelines long ago that such content is not allowed the only weird thing about it is that they suddenly begin to enforce there own set of rules....
one might wonder about the timing as there "trust&safety team" must have been blind and deaf over the past years.
Looking at the top 50 and there content they might as well ban adult games altogether if moral really is more important than a business case to them which I doubt...it's a deterrence nothing more nothing less.

the no link to porn stuffs if not under paywall, it will be the biggest problem on the long run IMHO. It will hit hard. At present parental love's dev cancelled the free version of the game after a month and I'm sure all the other will be forced to do the same.
Moreover it means no explicit demo. Site likes this one will became of capital importance for the marketing of porn games .

If they accept Game of Thrones as they say, it means they accept all incest and rape as long as it also comes with a story and it follows all other guidelines.

I believe that they are under pressure about the more and more content aimed towards characters with lower and lower ages or appearances of underage, much of what might be illegal even as toons.

Serious companies can't have, or even have hints of, illegal activity. Borderline will never be okey unless someone payed the necessary lawyers to prove it's fine, so that's why they also include genres that easily becomes borderline if the developer isn't careful.

It sounds like they will take down 90% of adult content, but in reality they only secure themselves the right to remove the things that hurt the company the most. I'm also sure they won't blindly take down anything that earns them money, but give fair warning and just block offensive content until it's fixed if necessary.

It's been going on for months and now there's been a sudden "push" to get it fixed. It could be anything from an employee alerting them to violators to a periodic review uncovering violators that spurred them into action. I am positive there's nothing nefarious behind their actions. It's a business, after all. They need to take steps to make sure they enhance their fiscal strength and longevity at all times.
Reminder.. they clearly stated they didn't like the existence of "fringe content" they called the "big 5" months ago and when nothing nothing was done with a minority of them, they decided to throw some "manpower" at it and get it started. Keep in line with laws and nobody looks at you. Keep the banks happy and they'll help you grow. Patreon wins!
Mr Dots is back and many others will be back, too. Summertime Saga wasn't even looked at since their patreon site is 'clean'. Just "clean up" your appearance and you're good to go. This will blow over. But there is an opportunity for us and sites like us to offer a option to the developers. We'd be remiss if we didn't.
This is not left vs right. It's got nothing to do with social justice or conservatives. We are not waging a battle of us vs religion or state. It's simply a corporation cleaning house.. Simple as that!

Can we have a blank(minimum description) Patreon page ?

2. I believe, if porn games developers gather to make one or request to a big site, such as porn hub, to make similar Patreon site for sensitive content, it can come to realization. I don't believe Patreon will change their point of view since the cash flow of porn material isn't majority.

Very good SEO point. You are right. It's the best solution. If I may give an idea, the best thing that could be done, in my humble opinion, is that the incests games devs should join hands and create a blog/website/studio with different sub-categories (each one would give access to a sub-domain = each dev will be able to get his own traffic/pledgers/support without having to worry about competition/banning or suspension issues).

I'll just throw in my opinion then: I wonder what will happen to the major games that give patreon thousands of dollars every month. basically everyone of the top games include incest, closing them would cut a good 20k $/month from patreon with just DMD, summertime saga, big brother and a couple more.

They'll just scare a few people, make them hide the stuff under the counter, make it look as if they're enforcing their TOS.
The creators would just say that their characters are 18+, the rape is just BDSM, and they're good to go.
Worst case scenarios, a small fish or two will bite the dust.

This issue has been ongoing for a few years now actually. Go check reddit about this issue and how 8chan got shutdown a couple years back. They tried to clean up the appearance of their page by making it look like a "cat haven" but due to the content they were turning out skirted the line at a certain matter, they were still shut down. Now that content includes "morally" questionable material in a wider context. How long before patreon starts banning some of them? a few months? A few years? Don't just think that this matter is going to blow over considering how long it's been building up. The developers that are going to be affected by this the most need to consider the change in wind and weather. If they don't, they'll be at the mercy of the sea in essence. Best that they start looking for other baskets to put their eggs in.

Just to reiterate some of what I've heard from the devs going through this: There have been NO BANS, all accounts that have been suspended have been asked to "clean up" their pages and ensure none of the links or content not behind a paywall break any of their rules. In particular, specific references to fetishes have to be removed from descriptions. NONE of the paywall content is being affected.

@bluehound36 , you're wrong. Patreon is just giving themselves an excuse in case someone makes a fuzz about it. That way they can just say they didn't know about the content, it's not like they can test every content released on their site.
