"i'm not getting into an argument about it" and that staff warning was mostly for you
Shouldn't have replied, then.
Yeah but probably nothing is keeping you from linking a blog or something. Just don't have lewd things on the banner of the blog, I have my doubts if Patreon will check the links at all, but if they do they won't look into the entire blog's content.
Then in the sidebard of the blog have the link to the current public version.
I don't think that will give them any trouble, as porn is not being directly linked on the Patreon page.
You can't conceal the fact that you're doing a porn game with incest forever. The best solution for me is just to distribute a restoration patch somewhere else, by the same devs, of course. So basically you'll have a barebones games that simply can't be deleted, while getting a patch to restore all the porn content from somewhere else. But these devs are too stupid to ever do that, and some projects will have a hard time doing it anyway.

I didn't know this thread is now for spitting on devs. Well done... Jesus...
If you need something to be done, obviously devs need to know what to do too, including what to avoid in their patreon page, if they can even conserve it, and what to do to restore their games, so they are part of the discussion too. But again, they are probably too incompetent or busy swimming in the money they earned so far.

Additionally, seems like the games targeted are just DAZ shit, so probably 2D stuff is safe, thank god.

With how things are going in the world and how things are changing i'm surprised it's taken this long.

Youtube going all "advertiser friendly" and dropping the ad revenue of anyone with questionable content and social media going all "won't someone think of the children". It was only a matter of time before Patreon caught up.
*

I'm thinking of deleting all the pledges I have now on Patreon. I don't want to support a site like that.

From what lewdlab was saying you don't need to conceal you're doing it, they just don't want it openly on the free side of Patreon. Looks like the support people he talked about didn't put any restrictions in content behind the patron paywall.
If they're ok with that, linking to a blog that may or may not have porn in it shouldn't be a big problem.

How is it a personally attack if I'm not attacking anyone in particular? Is stating facts and saying the truth about a group of people a personal attack? When did I say something about the users? Will this rule enforcing will be as arbitrary as Patreon too? Isn't it a little too ironic that you all bitch about patreon rules while also doing the same thing here?

Man, that's actually a lot worse. "It's ok as long as you pay us for it!". That's pretty hypocrital. I seriously hope no one supports patreon after this, including the devs.

From this point on-wards this thread is closed, none of you have anything of value to add to this conversation besides blaming others and favoritism towards some developers "Why did the dev i like get shutdown but not the one i hate". If you have anything of value to add, actual information on this, please PM me and i'll add your comment here manually with credit to you.
Any other Threads like this that pop-up, will be deleted.

EDIT: shared by @T51bwinterized

Someone shared with me Mr. Dots (DMD creator) recent private post regarding this matter and it pretty much confirms some of my assumptions below.

EDIT: According to Lewdlabs (creator of Dreams of Desire), Mind Control (non-consensual) was a big nono for Patreon. This should include Brainwash, Mind Control, Mind Break, Hypnosis and any similar non-consensual sounding word like rape (speculation). If a word sounds non-consensual, don't add it to the public. Make a frigging website and control your own information like i say below, expand your brand and don't conform to a single platform whims.

Lewdlabs Comment (thank you @jande21 ): ''they didn't specify too much in their first mail, i didn't know that having the words 'mind control' was an issue. Turns out it was. So I removed that as well It doesn't help that they work on this really slow...''

.png

So far, what seems to trigger Patreon is the following:
  • Banner with nudity (speculation) or banned keywords in the title and other pornographic words.
  • Banned keywords (incest, rape (Including keywords like mind control, brainwash...), bestiality...) in the Patreon overview page, (unsure if private messages trigger it They shouldn't but we don't know for sure besides some creators told us.).
  • Adult sample images, specially nudity and other sensible content. (unsure if private messages trigger it).
  • Just general descriptions/mentions of hardcore content in a crude fashion.
What to do:
  • Remove any of the banned keywords from your titles, overview.
  • Re-phrase your overview to a more professional dry text of what you offer.
  • Remove any samples/banner that contain hardcore nudity and banned keywords captions.
  • Branch, don't put all your eggs in one basket (more on this below).
Branching out from Patreon:

You shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket, it's fine to use the Patreon platform but you should expand your reach. Start by creating your own website where you can control the message and content, you can then simply link to Patreon and from it (Know that they don't allow linking to material they are banning in the first place, so be smart about how you link your content). Social media is important and it's also a good way to retain user interest in your products. This is your livelihood at stake and it's on the hands of a companies whim, protect yourself by being smart.

You can find Patreon guideline here: take what i said above with a grain of salt, inform yourself, try to get ahead of this whole mess.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to the new Patreon guideline for adult content ( ), some of you might get your accounts suspended pending review for it's content. It's already happened to Mr.Dots and Lewdlabs, the creators of Dating My Daughter and Dreams of Desire. Since then Mr.Dots has been re-instated but his overview page is completely different from before. We advise you to try and minimize damage to your Patreon by trying to abide to their guidelines by changing mention of content they deem bad, (just remove direct mentions of incest, rape... not the content itself). Alternatively you can wait and get flagged by Patreon in the future (or not who knows). In the end we don't know where this will lead, it started early today and by tomorrow a lot of you could be suspended or not. In 5 months maybe it'll all be ok. EDIT: Others took the initiative and cleaned their overview pages, including Dark Silver, Icstor...

I'm re-opening the thread. IF you start trowing insults or taking camps again, we're closing it down for good and only real information will be added.

Again, we want information, constructive speculation is also fine to a degree, we don't want tin-foiled hat conspiracies. If any of your Patreon creators share any emails with Patreon support team or just remarks they may have told him. Share them.

Any new threads that pop-up about Patreon Guidelines will be deleted (please report any you see in the forum), if you see people talking about this on a game thread, report it and direct those people to this thread. Thank you.

So basically lying on patreon for that sweet money. Nice. Also, nice of the mods to cover for patreon devs when it's obvious what is going on.

My advice stand still: Simply don't use patreon if you have to play hide and seek just to keep your project floating.
You do know people can have a website or something somewhere else and use Patreon just for finantial support, right? This is how most people use Patreon, outside of this niche. People make their content on a personal website or places like youtube and tumblr and Patreon is a side thing. If anything, having people have their own devblogs again instead of using Patreon as the only platform is a very good thing for the scene. And by doing that, you don't need to specify everything on Patreon page, everyone you direct there already know.

If they try just cleaning the patreon page but having no other place to talk about the game, it's not even a matter of "lying about the game", new people won't find his game or be interested in pledging, period. I'm sure some devs will try doing that but that will not work. They'll just be shooting themselves in the foot long term. People will need to start making devblogs again and using Patreon for donations, early access (by linking to a non-public post elsewhere), polls and discussions, etc, not for as the main "publicity" page.

Youtube uses bots to filter out content and in a few cases an edit version got demonetized and a non-edited didn't. Plus the aren't using those guidelines if the poster is a big corporation which several user who had demonetization videos have pointed out in detail.

My previous post went more on detail about this but sadly the mod deleted it. Yes, I'm not saying you shouldn't play it smart, it's good to have multiple alternatives, but here is the thing, as of now Patreon is a terrible alternative when you have to outright lie about what you do there. By using it's services you are still supporting a terrible page like that, which only shows your true colors as a dev. Tip jars and donation sites exist, but none of them are as profitable as patreon is, are they? So no wonder every dev jumps on patreon, which is why I mentioned the hide and seek. Also, patreon is a site for just pledging, so if you're there is probably to pledge. You can miss pledging buttons on forums or blogs and the likes, while in patreon is more than obvious you "should" pledge.

A lot of good things comes from this: Now there will be less scammers but sadly the popular scammers have a cult-following already. Furthermore, porn games will become more niche again, so no more bullshit about reaching a broader audience. And lastly, devs have to actually put effort in their proof of concept if they want to attract attention, and that doesn't guarantee a lot of money either.

Things are looking good. Patreon going full retard is a blessing.
This is literally the same thing that you talk about again and again. We get that Patreon is going full retard, so what? There are tons of sites that are not related to Patreon and they had to change due to investors. At this point in the conversation, its doenst matter any more. Just beating a dead horse as it is and should just leave it where it lie. If you have nothing else to add other than what is being said above, dont add to it.

I would rather see people replying that creators are back up and what Patreon told them to do, to fix it.
