Too late I already started doing it.Won't like bro, I hate everything about that story. The rape, the interspecies pregnancy, the wart, the hypnosis, it's hitting all my "nope fuck that" spots lmao

Here's the thing, a hell of a lot of us only play these games because they have story. As for the "NSFW needs a story", I strongly disagree.
You can't know it. Same as you can't know if your partner will stay faithful to you, you just read the signals and decide to engage - or to go away. It's not that complicated, in the end it's just a few bucks. You pay because you enjoy what you see and play, in the hopes it keeps that way. You said yourself you spent 2 years backing someone who didn't answer your questions, that's a clear bad signal you chose to ignore simply because the game was good enough for you - until it wasn't. No hard feelings. That's the problem though, Ecchi Sensei was trustable at first, they had regular releases for a while. How do I know this already trustable dev will stay trustable? I just don't. AH oh well, it's not as big a deal as I felt it was last night lol.
Funny how I keep reading people saying that but I am yet to play a western adult game with actual good story. Here's the thing, a hell of a lot of us only play these games because they have story.
That wasn't me who said that it was someone else lol.You can't know it. Itch doesn't force you to do anything, it's the devs who set pricing on their games.Itch.io seems to be a site with a lot more games, but too bad they force you to pay.
Depends on your definition of "good". There certainly are no Twains, Faulkners, TS Eliots amongst us but there are plenty of games that I would say have objectively good stories compared to your average Hollywood script. DPK's "Acting Lessons" is very endearing and "BaDik" is entertaining though much more sophomoric. Perverteer and Caribdis are both decent writers with enjoyable scripts. "The Last Sovereign" has a great script honestly, it might even be more enjoyable as a book and not hampered by crappy RPGM engine.Funny how I keep reading people saying that but I am yet to play a western adult game with actual good story.
I do agree with slow build and gameplay that's why I play games instead of porn. But how is their story different from porn when you play a game where the mom slips and falls over the mc dick lol?
That's pretty roughThose devs are employed by studios, the devs for adult games are usually amateurs that occasionally rely on their games to pay the bills.
It's silly for a number of reasons and it's one reason I give some devs on here a lot of shit.
This is not a career, it isn't. I don't give a shit how much work it is, how many sleepless nights they have it's a hobby. Nobody is employing them, they are working for themselves. Any money they get is from donations not wages.
The problem then arises that some devs seem to think it's easy money and when they don't make that money they abandon ship.
The hard truth is very few devs will ever be able to call this a job. Only a few will ever make enough money to do it full time and make a living from it.
A select few will make a hell of a lot of money.
The majority will make a bit of pocket change that would go alongside the wages from a full time job nicely. The majority will earn roughly between 100 to 1k a month, give or take, before taxes.
Quite a few won't make shit.
Simply put, if you are making a game with the express purpose of making money, you fucked up.
If you are making a game and expect people to pay you just because you put some effort in, you fucked up.
More importantly, and my personal pet peeve, if you start making a game and don;t earn what you think you deserve so abandon it and start another to try and make money with that, you not only fucked up but seriously pissed off damn near everyone and shat on your own chances of ever building support. Nobody, not a single person with any sense will ever back a dev that does that. That's the BrightSunStudio method and it didn't work for him nor will it work for anyone else. Seriously, stop doing it. If you're a dev that's done this (i'm looking at you SilkandMilkProductions) you fucked up.
It takes a long time to builf up a player base. It could take 2 or 3 games before people start supporting a dev. That's 2 or 3 completed games not 2 or 3 abandoned games.
As for paying for these games. I've bought quite a few on Steam and a few through Itch. I rarely ever use Patron and can't use things like Subscribestar because my payment methods have blacklisted it and I only trust PayPal with my online payments.
I don't like paying for incomplete or early access games but there are some devs that I trust so don't mind.
You seem to fail to understand that your mentioned AAA games come from established companies that have enough funding themselfs or have investors that invest enough money to keep the project rolling. Indie porn game devs don't have that per se and are reliant on donations of people who like what they do to be able to sustain a project.I don't pay monthly for AAA games so why would I for sex games? Please berate me how you feel...
They also have teams of Testers and Quality Assurance teams. You seem to fail to understand that your mentioned AAA games come from established companies that have enough funding themselfs or have investors that invest enough money to keep the project rolling. Indie porn game devs don't have that per se and are reliant on donations of people who like what they do to be able to sustain a project.
Also when it comes to the development time a lot of people don't understand that making games, AAA or indie, takes time and even AAA games take years to finish despite having a huge ass team working on them.
Not going to comment on the dev of ecchi sensei because i absolutely don't care about that game so i don't seek information about update times and so on.
That is somewhat true. Somewhat because a dev could have testers in the circle of people they know but yeah they don't have the amount of testers that gamestudios have thats certain. They also have teams of Testers and Quality Assurance teams.
Indie teams (or even worse, solo) make games in a glass dome, with no external input.
An indie game could be developed in the shadows for years, release, and people might not enjoy it or even be unable to progress for some flaws that the devs totally missed.
As a Patron, you actually have the power to influence the game you are supporting.
I believe that most of them would already be happy if by chance they achieve to earn enough to pay back their expenses. Alas even this don't happen this often. The hard truth is very few devs will ever be able to call this a job. Only a few will ever make enough money to do it full time and make a living from it.
