Ask Polly at the beginning of dinner if she thinks he has a chance. Next ask "why not" when the subject of the car comes up. When Catarina and Simon show up, make sure you only say nice things to Catarina when Simon is not looking at her, Polly will help. Start by 'saying something more personal'. Next:
-secretly prefer Catarina's arse
-agree with Simon
-decide as it goes along
-not right now
-show interest in his hobbies
-not your bag
-not right now
-show interest in his job
-you always find her tempting
